Guest guest
Good for you! What a great change! > > I just cancelled my online subscription which I've had for years. I decided that if I was going to be serious about Intuitive Eating, I had to totally turn my back on dieting. Now when I open my browser, I don't get weight watchers, I get nothing. As soon as I find something that makes me happy, I'll put that in its place. >
Guest guest
Good for you. I was on WW too. It's almost addictive in itself. There were many times I would turn to their message boards instead of eating. It was helpful in that it kept me very busy. But it was so focusing on the food and eating in a way that made me more food obsessed I guess. So I was happy to find this board. The ww boards move so fast and keep you so busy, I was worried this board wouldn't. I found a similar board on yahoo and enjoy it as well. But even both don't keep me as busy when I want to eat out of boredom. Now I have been starting back into a hobby I used to adore, which is photography and feeling so good about it, because i had to find something else to do. lol Warrior > > I just cancelled my online subscription which I've had for years. Guest guest
Yes, the best thing about WW was the community. That's why I knew I had to find an IE group. I discovered I need that support. In good news, I went out to dinner tonight, felt like having a hamburger and fries, which I did, but couldn't eat all of. In bad news, when a big ice cream and brownie dessert came to the table, I ate my share even though I really didn't want it. I just felt " obligated. " :-( > > > > I just cancelled my online subscription which I've had for years. I decided that if I was going to be serious about Intuitive Eating, I had to totally turn my back on dieting. Guest guest
Congrats on the babystep . Don't sweat eating the dessert, you were aware of why you ate it and that is an excellent place to start from. As many others have found, over time that feeling of 'obligation' will lessen and become more YOUR choice than not :) Best to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Yes, the best thing about WW was the community. Guest guest
It's all about the awareness. Alcoholics can't recover until they admit the truth of how they drink. Check out Intuitive Eating, if you haven't written already. If you already are familiar, just remind yourself of that principle. ;-) Warrior > > > > > > I just cancelled my online subscription which I've had for years.
