My son was Bar Mitzvah'ed in May 2007 by our local Chabad rabbi. It was an absolutely amazing experience! If you live near a Chabad synagogue, you might want to make an appointment with the rabbi to talk to him. As a rule, I find the Chabad incredibly accepting. In fact, I believe that my rabbi was more excited about having my son become a Bar Mitzvah than most Bar Mitzvahs he attends. Also, by the way, my son still puts on tfillin every day and says the blessings (in case you were wondering, we are not orthodox -- it's just something that my son connects to). He also goes to shul with us every week.

Can anyone suggest a rabbi and/or Synogogue that works with Special Needs children to prepare for Bar Mitvah?
