Guest guest
Dear sList Group Members, I would like to introduce our school to you as an educational alternative to students who present with learning difficulties and are struggling in their current educational environment. Many of the students enrolled in our school are diagnosed with ADD, Asperger’s Disorder, Dyslexia, and auditory and/or visual processing delays. We also have students with social anxiety and/or delayed social skills. Our school is SACS/CITA accredited and is open to 1st-12th graders. We believe every student has a preferred learning style and we teach to all three (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) modalities. Our personalized learning strategies are also geared to each student’s academic level and pace of learning. We emphasize core subjects such as reading, language arts, math, social studies and science. The use of interactive computer technology is also greatly stressed each day. Our low student to teacher ratio, an average of 15:1, as well as an experienced, caring and nurturing staff helps foster self-confidence and self-esteem in our students. In addition, we offer after school clubs, a daily after-school program and a full summer camp and academic program. We have professional liaisons with numerous psychologists, speech and occupational therapists that work with our students on campus. We would welcome the opportunity of having you visit our school and look forward to the possibility of being an alternative school for those students who are struggling or falling through the cracks. For those of you who have referred students to our school, I thank you so very much! Please call or email me with any questions you may have. Sincerely, Ilyssa Hershey, Psy.D.
