If you want to do some research on pancreatitis online, one of the best resources I've seen is the Hopkin's GI website. It has tons of information on it. http://hopkins-gi.org/subspecialities/chronic. As for will it get worse or when, it's different for each individual. Some people have it really bad right off the bat and some are like me, where it's real slow. I started out just having acute attacks about 1 a year and now, fourteen years later, I have daily pain as of this January. I wish I had a more concrete answer to give you, but I don't.
