Guest guest Report post Posted April 9, 2003 My cycles haven't really changed since I have had them. Some 29 years or so!! They were running between 29 and 31 days with a 13-14 day luteal phase. But when I had surgery I was in the middle of a cycle. The next one started a couple of days earlier than it should making me have an 11 day luteal phase. YIKES! Then that cycle was on a fast track. Cervical fluid changed quickly and I O'd way early. The entire cycle was only 25 days long. So far this one is looking much better! Guest guest Report post Posted November 14, 2003 It's still blowing crazy here. I mentioned in one of my earlier messages we lost an old wooden decorative gate that I had in my backyard. We hardly ever loose power, so I'm not worried about that, I just generally feel "unsettled" in this sort of weather. I don't know, this wind just gets me all nervous. You should have seen Kasper walking yesterday. He's very slim and tall for a 6 year old and has a fear of tornados. He was holding on to anything he could between the driveway and the door. I was actually holding Arek by the hand, because I was afraid the wind would knock him over. Now, Sebastian is a 90 pounder whose gravity is stronger than anyone else I know. He had no problems. I'm glad it's over by you. Just the sound makes me mad and I look forward to it ending here. I need to get a few things and I'm planning on going about around noon. I've been feeling better these last two days and don't know how long it'll last, so I thought I would take advantage of. Still not sure though, I might chicken out. Mojo Mojo Good morning Mojo! The winds have died down alot here. They recorded wind gusts at 90mph here yesterday. Luckly, I never lost power. My mom and dad did though and they wouldn't leave the house to go anywhere warm. Thank you for caring. I have not been feeling terrific. My hands are doing weird things, like hurt, going numb, tingle, etc. AND the DAMN LEGS have been spasing on me this week. After I get home from work, fix dinner, eat dinner all I want to do is get into recliner, elevate legs and hope they quiet down. Everyone is right about the stress factor. It seems when I get stressed at work I feel worse. Hmmm Being on the Prednisone increases the way I DON'T handle my stress. Hee Hee. Guest guest Report post Posted November 24, 2003 I think being on prednisone does that to everyone on it. I USED to be a model and dance instructor-NOT ANYMORE! I went from a 1-3 size to a size 18 in a few short months. There went MY career. I'm not used to being HUGH. My intimacy levels is zero (I don't feel attractive enough). My doctor told me to just get used to weighing this much forever because I will not be able to lose any REAL weight since the steriods have already done it's irreversible damage (weighing the pros-less pain and the cons-HUGH WEIGHT GAIN). I now wear size 16 but I still don't like what I see. I always thought like the skinny girls (when I was skinny)-why can't they lose weight. Look at Jerry and how he ballooned up too...I use that now as proof that it's not just me who gains weight by taking meds. I LOVE EVERYONE big or small. All women are beautiful...now I just have to take my own advice (which is hard I KNOW). But we LOOK healthy (don't you hate THAT comment). Take care fellow Lupies. > My heart breaks for you. I know in the days before prednisone, I had a thing about fat people and why couldn't they loose weight. Well guess what! Now I'm in those shoes and now I know it's not easy. I can honestly say I never was rude like those people were, I don't believe in that and have tried to teach my boys the same thing. But I did use to think it. Your a great person, and they are ignorant, and predjudise(sp). I hope you are feeling better today and just remember what a special person you are. Those that know you, know that. > >
Guest guest Report post Posted November 24, 2003 , THAT remark is the one I hate the most, too. "But, you don't LOOK sick." It gets us more dirty looks from people who think we shouldn't park in handicapped parking, or shouldn't take the motorized carts in stores, etc. I get so I just tell it like it is, and let the Devil take the hindmost. LOL Take care, honey, and remember this, you are lovable and we love you, no matter what you think. Hugs, MM

Guest guest Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Hi --thinking about you too.. yesterday when it was really coming down with snow. the block got together like it does every yeaqr, and lined every building front with evergreen rope and red ribbons, and putting wreathes everywhere. it is so beautiful. there is no other block like it in the Village. i went out with maggie moonpie the wonderpug, who pitifully limped along and peed and pooped in record time..what a foo foo dog. its been tough on the back, even with good treaded shoes, theres slipping and bracing, so today i finished my xmas shopping (yes!) and have plopped down on the bed to catch up here. and email family. the good thing is...i wont have to move my car around since theyve cancelled alternate side of the street parking tomorrow, a new york city sub-culture that you have to have lived to understand the misery. the white snow is turning slushy..but luckily all i need is within two blocks, including the subway to work...this is just why i moved to this block..its the gimp's paradise even in the worst conditions. how are tricks where you are? Guest guest Report post Posted December 15, 2003 Hi , I so totally ubnderstand being the supermom. It took me a while to get by, but I realized I can't be supermom to my kid if I don't be supermom to ME! That is very hard to swallow if you are a mom who is totally involved in everything your child does! It takes time.....having your husband understand helps as well. I wish I could offer you more.....but for me, I just had to learn to take care of me and let my husband help! Christmas this year is better, I let the kids do the decorating....and I learned to let it be good enough. I didn't have to correct the bows and stockings. Rehang the garland.....you know what I'm saying don't you? *smile* Grey hairs.......totally understand this too. I was 36 and no grey hair.....then I had an accident.....they've popped out like Aunt Petulas garden! I have decided to accept them and treat them like my crown of jewels! I earned ever one and I wear them proudly! I hope I've helped some..........smile more, shrug your shoulders more, hug your kids more..........that is what life is all about! Love you......grey hair and all! Becky lisacanuck2003 wrote: Well, last time I posted here I was just starting on the plaquenil. I went to my 6 week follow up appt Monday. Not much has changed, I am still really tired, sore all the time, plus I am losing my hair, and what's still there is turning grey. I am only 32 and have never had any greys before. Oh well. Have also been mired in depression, this year Christmas sucks because I just don't feel up to doing the whole shebang like normal. Am feeling guilty because I am not supermom anymore, more like queen couch potato. *sigh* oh well. At least my hubby is still understanding, and my work is okay, but I don't feel right taking any sick days, we are short 2 people and will be short for at least 2 months. Okay, enough whining!
