Yes, you do need to accept cookies to be able to view the yahoo website for this

group. What you can do is set your browser security to medium and then select

view-> privacy report. That way you can block individual cookies from certain

sites (like doubleclick) from every placing a cookie on your computer and still

be able to view yahoo and various online email sites.

Hope this helps,

Yahoo Website

Diane,

Despite trying numerous times with new names/passwords, I also cannot get on

the Yahoo uterine fibroids website (I'd love to see the pics.) I've got my

computer set " never to accept cookies " at websites and I think that may be the

problem. If someone knows if you need to " accept " cookies let me know. Thanks.

Rhonda

Thanks for the tips, .

I've never liked the idea of companies following me around like a phantom on

the web and knowing exactly what I'm doing so that's why I decided never to

accept cookies. (Shades of Big Brother.) But I guess I'll just have to (to some

degree) in order to access certain things on the web.

Thanks again, Rhonda - going to reset my security settings...temporarily :)

Thanks, Jenine. I created a name and logged on to the yahoo website earlier

this am and immediately afterward deleted the cookies. However, I still

couldn't get to the pics on the fibroids' site - I tried clicking on pics but

nothing

happened - no little hand, nothing. I have a Mac powerbook and sometimes this

computer just isn't in sync with everything out there - oh, well.

So how is everything? How are your incisions? Are they healing well and are

they fairly unnoticeable? I'm waiting for the fall to schedule my laparoscopic

myo. I'm ready!

Your posts (and Leaky's - glad to hear you're not anymore - wtg Leaky!) after

your surgery were very comforting to me and have given me a lot of confidence

and hope in the lap myo. Oh, by the way, how's the pooch? Is your abdomen

flatter now? I am dying to get rid of that. My " soccer ball " sized uterus is

driving me crazy especially since I'll soon be wearing a bathing suit a lot.

Guess

I'll just have to suck it in when people are around...lol!

Anyway, I'm so happy your life has improved dramatically since your myo. It

was so inspiring to hear of your fun activities. For me, big concerts are

really problematic with the bathroom line-ups, etc. - just like you mentioned.

It's

great to hear the new positivity in your voice when just a few months ago you

were sounding so beaten down by fibroids.

Wishing you continued good times,

Rhonda

Hi Rhonda...Do you have a firewall enabled? Sometimes a firewall will prevent a

web page from displaying everything properly. I have Norton Firewall and if I

don't disable it, some pages won't display all of the images. I keep it enabled

until I start getting those empty boxes; when I start to have problems, I

disable just my firewall (not the antivirus) and then I reload the web page that

I am trying to view and it usually fixes the problem. Macs are funny like you

said though so it could be something other than the firewall I suppose.

But anyhow, as far as how I am doing, let's see...

My incisions are doing ok, still pretty dark and haven't faded much but they

look better every week. I still have funny sensations like numbness and little

twangs of pain but not anything a baby couldn't tolerate. =o) The scars (5)

have faded a little and I am sure in time they will lighten up dramatically. As

far as the pooch thing...it definitely made a difference ( I don't look pregnant

anymore) but I know that part of my problem in that area was from my inactivity

due to all of the bleeding; so, I have returned to my regular workout schedule

that I had prior to my fibroid follies and I insist on regaining my strength and

as much of a perfect figure as I can at age 34...lolol. I have been working out

every day except for Saturdays and Sundays and it feels great! I just now

resumed stomach exercises this week because I was and still am a little leery

about doing too much too fast but it felt ok yesterday so I will just listen to

my body and go from there. Things have improved tremendously! I really hope

you get the same results with yours and as a matter of fact you will probably do

better. =o) My first cycle post myo was pretty good. I had only two days of

moderate to heavy bleeding. The heavy times during those two days lasted a few

hours and required changing a super plus tampon every 1/2 to one hour and then I

had my normal 5 or 6 days if light to no bleeding after those first two days.

This cycle that I just started yesterday seems to be taking the exact same

course as the last and that is fine with me. I have always had heavier periods;

I am not one of those lucky girls who only require a band-aide during their

cycles....lolol...lucky little shits....hahaha. But believe me when I use the

word " heavy " now it is not anything near my hemorrhaging days of past. No huge

clotting, not severe, excruciating pain...just a normal cycle with normal

cramps. Actually, these two cycles are the lightest my cycles have ever been as

far back as I can remember...so that is just absolutely wonderful!

Ok...I hope this helps....and I hope you fix your pc troubles too...sometimes

they can be a real pain in the behind. Btw, how are you doing these days? Talk

to you soon!

Jenine

Hi Jenine,

Thanks for the computer advice. I'm pretty hopeless with this thing and it's

capable of doing so much - frankly, I have no idea if it has a firewall or

not. I think I'll just leave well enough alone - I got the ticking " bomb " - very

bad news on a mac - on this computer barely a month after getting it! I may

end up using a friend's or family member's computer to look on the yahoo fibroid

site. Actually, I almost forgot, a very kind person in the group offered to

email me some of the photos on the site so I look forward to that.

And thanks for filling me in on your recovery post-myo. Sounds like things

are going great - I only hope I have as much success with my myo. It's really

great to hear all the good things that come with being fibroid-free! I've never

really let the fibroids get me down, even with the heavy bleeding, anemia,

constant bathroom visits, etc. I've always looked at everything as being

temporary and fixable. I feel sorry for myself for a couple of minutes sometimes

but

never for long - there's so much out there to do and see - I don't (and won't)

let the fibroids rule my life. It isn't easy sometimes but there are things a

lot worse to have.

Keep on smiling and enjoying life,

Rhonda
