Guest guest
Sissi, I think it is you don't care if people stare any more. After so many years one just does not care what others think. We are to tried to worry about others. Lori -- Re: Stop staring! > I know the feeling! The autism wasn't as obvious then as it is now. I don't really have to give them out anymore, or maybe I just don't care if they stare anymore, not sure which is true.:/ Sissi
Guest guest
--- We went to the mall today. It was one of THOSE days. We went into a buffet type restaurant where Trevayne proceeded to scream bloody murder. Oh yeah, the very few times we actually have time to go in public, there is always at least one situation that causes someone to stare at us (me specifically) like I've lost the mother of the year award. Since my guys are so little still - I guess tantrums and struggles and pacifier use are still quasy forgiven by those " superior " parents. The stares that are actually hard sometimes for me are actually in the preschool parking lot - I have an entire " entourage " - the twins, two shadows for them and me - both guys screaming because they don't want to walk, and me singing " the ants go marching one by one " on the top of my lungs to get them to walk. I hold my head up high, make no direct eye contact with anybody, and say over and over in my head - F-CK 'EM - they don't know us, they don't want to know us and more importantly, I don't want to know them if they're judging us... - , Sam and Max's mom
Guest guest
I seen t-shirts once that said " I have autism, what's your problem? " I so want some of those for the kids. Hee hee Georga Re: Stop staring! (((((((Chris)))))) I know the feeling! Have you thought about either you or the kids wearing informative t-shirts, or handing out cards like the ones I made up? Guest guest
That is pretty much my assessment. I just don't care anymore. I am tired of dealing with nasty people when I correct Savannah in public. I just try not to take the kids to many places any more Georga Re: Stop staring! > I know the feeling! Guest guest
Georga, I have the transfer made up for , but hubby and MIL won't let me make the shirt. :-( All you need is a white t-shirt the iron on transfer paper for the printer. Lots cheaper than ordering them. :-) ellen Re: Stop staring! I seen t-shirts once that said " I have autism, what's your problem? " I so want some of those for the kids.
