Guest guest
Just want to introduce myself. I'm 41 and have had a fibroid for years. My mother also had fibroids and ended up with a hyterectomy. I really don't know much about them? And I want to learn more. My doctor has been no help. I have been having heavier and heavier bleeding (hemorraging really). That is anywhere from 2-4 days long each month. My period lasts at least 7 days. I end up going through 3 boxes of tampoons and a box of pads at least every month. I also get constant pain (all month)where the fibroid is. I can't even lie on that side to sleep? Getting my period makes me very sick - headache, naushua, weak, dizzy, very thirsty. I also get periodic severe pain which has almost made me pass out in public. The problem is - we want a baby! When I asked my doctor what I could do, he tells me I need a hyterectomy, but I'm too young. Then pushes that birth control shot that stops your period for three months? He tells me that is all he can do to stop the bleeding? When I told him I want to get pregnant, he shrugs? I know there has to be other treatments out there? I have given up hope that I might get pregnant - I do have a grown up daughter already. It's just so nice to hear others who go through what I go through every month. I really thought I was dying when it all started? -
