FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — In November, the world’s most renowned autism experts will convene at the National Autism Conference (NAC) in Florida to cover everything from cutting-edge research to dietary interventions, therapies, children’s rights, and marital coaching.

The speaker lineup is set to include Dr.. Martha Herbert, Dr. Swedo, Dr. Jeff Bradstreet, Dr. Blaylock, Dr. Jerry Kartzinel, writer Kirby, and longtime advocate Barbara Loe Fisher. Dr. Wakefield will deliver the keynote address.

The conference lineup also features a lecture by Soma Mukhopadhyay, developer of the Rapid Prompting Method technique of teaching individuals with autism. Soma, also known as Tito’s Mom, has garnered the attention of the international media with the success of her unique and effective teachingmethods. Her story will be also be featured in the upcoming documentary The Sunshine Boy, narrated by Kate Winslet.

The issue of restraint and seclusion in public schools will also be covered at this year’s conference. Parents and teachers are invited to join in learningthe latest in de-escalation methods and what can be done to prevent harmful restraint and seclusion practices. The topic of IEP’s will also be covered ina separate full-day Special Ed Law workshop that will be made available to the public as a separate event, an NAC first.
