Dear Families,

I am writing you today to let you know I am leaving The Arc of

Palm Beach County, tomorrow, Thursday, September 3rd, will be my

last day. Over ten years ago I was looking for parent support for myself,

I ended up providing that support to other families through The Arc’s Family to

Family Program. At the time what I didn’t realize is that this program

would end up being the best support for me that I could ever

imagine. I have known many of you since my children were infants

some of you I have met throughout the years; all of you have touched my life in

a special way.

My children have grown up over the years, they are now

teenagers and they need me to be home to support them has they become young

adults. It was a difficult decision for me but I have to do what is

best for my family. Thank you for sharing your stories and family with me

over the years. The memories and friends I have made will stay with me

forever.

The Arc has always realized the importance of family

support, and will be continuing the program. You will be notified through

email when the new coordinator is in place. Interviews are proceeding now and

s/he should be appointed before the end of the month. In the interim,

please don’t hesitate to contact The Arc. Ask for Kim Hanson.
