Guest guest
Lorane: You can get NAG from Needs.com - that's where I get it. I think it's important that it be NAG itself for relief. According to the Vulvar Pain Foundation Newsletter most people need 3 to 6 months to see relief with NAG. I'm not sure how many people take but I know some people take up to 6 a day, or so I've read. I know my Orthopedic guy told me once that NAG should be taken WITH food or it won't work. Not sure that's true but that's what I do. This guy was the doctor for the METS so I think he knows his stuff. : The Newsletter also stays that Goldline Calcium is a good brand (available at some pharmacies) and NOW brand POWDER - 1 teaspoon = 700 mgs of calcium. Solaray is to be avoided because it is formulated with an herb base. KAL is another brand that is GOOD - you can maybe order them through a health store. 3 tablets = 1000 mg's a day. I find vulvarpainfoundation.org Newsletters very informative and I join every year. Membership is 45 but if you're financially hardshipped they'll work with you. I know one of the old Newsletters explained exactly why D should not be in your Calcium but I can't find it right now but I know D should NOT be in it. Also, through the foundation there is another connective tissue restorer type supplement called HTO. It's expensive but when other options fail some people have experienced relief by adding it. It gave me wicked heartburn but I have serious GERD so I'm not a good judge on that. Hope this helps. L
