Guest guest Posted January 8, 2001 Report Share Posted January 8, 2001 Hi Guys! Just for the record, I've had mixed results with the Valerian Root in the past. If it doesn't work for you, try Kava Kava. It's pretty powerful relaxant for some of us. Hubby SWEARS by it, uses it only once in a great while if under stress and/or wakes up in the night unable to get back to sleep. I wanted to mention this at the meeting, but didn't get a chance to speak. My sleep problems generally have to do with this new pressure on my hips and knees. Last night was just miserable, in fact, with the worst hip pain ever. Duh....I should have tried the pillow between my knees trick. I ALSO wanted to mention a couple of milestones for me..... (1) I was freezing the other night (as usual), and decided to take a bath, figuring that I would have been able to fit relatively comfortably in the tub now. Well, it's a teeny tiny tub in this townhouse we're renting till the spring, so it wasn't exactly the experience I had been fantasizing about. I mean, I'm pretty short, and it didn't even fit well length-wise....but I fit! (2) My dh, Pete, picked me up right off the floor a couple weeks ago without killing himself. I haven't been picked up as an adult EVER. Ever since, I ask him to do it once in a while for kicks. It's a serious mood-lifter for me. The best thing that's happened to me in a long time: at the NWH meeting last week, while chatting with Rose (on this list....hiya!) she pointed at me and said to her mom " that's what I want to look like in a year! " . As in, I'm one of the ones who's lost a ton of weight......like, I really HAVE lost a lot of weight, you know? It did a lot for my esteem, I tell ya.
