Guest guest
Like many of you, I take vitamin supplements for overall health and hopefully to improve my skin. I have been taking a B Complex vitamin and a sublingual B12. However, I came across a website dealing with dermalogical problems. In the Acne Due to Medicines section, they listed B vitamins (B12, cyanocobalamin). I was surprised to see this since I thought B vitamins were good for the skin. Anybody else run into this or know more about it? The other medications they listed were: halogens, antiepileptics, antituberculous drugs, antidepressants, and cyclosporin. Guest guest
Kelp is often used in supplements as a natural source of iodine. I can stand it in small amounts, but too much additional iodine can cause acne breakouts if you're predispositioned to them. I stopped taking a multi-mineral recently b/c I thought the iodine was causing a cluster of little bumps in the center of my forehead that just wouldn't go away. After 5 days off that multi, the skin in the affected area is much smoother. So if you're prone to acne, watch your iodine intake. We certainly need it in our diets for proper thyroid function, but don't OD on the shellfish! And watch your added salt intake, too--most table salt (except kosher) is iodinated. --- Matija wrote: > > Hi, > > Could it be that there's niacin in your > multi-vitamins?
