They are an anti-spasmodic that is given under the tongue(SubLingual). It is supposed to help with spasms of the bowel,and other organs--potentially the pancreas. Kind of like a muscle spasm--only in an organ. They were not very helpful for me,but they are sometimes used for irritable bowel syndrome. Hope that helps!!
