Hi ,

I missed the information you recieved regarding Careon's hearing. I have a

tendecy to lurk and read when I can. I have been better this week as I have

come to realize that I need more information!

Any way, just to comment on the loud noises. My daughter is 8 and has been

wearing aides since she was about 2. Whenever she is in a plce that is loud

like parades, the school cafeteria and school assembly, she has to actually turn

her aides off. For some reason, too much backgroud noise or instruments REALLY

get to her. She has an aide at school so when has to turn her aides off,

the aide helps her get the information she needs. Keep this in mind when

Cameron goes to school. There is something with the input through the hearing

aides that is really bothersome, especially with lots of backgroud noise. I

just let het turn them off and remind her to turn them on when the area of

concern has past. I have listened through her aides and can get a slight

understanding of how it sounds to her.

Any way.....

Subject: Cameron's hearing test results

I posted last week asking for input regarding Cameron's hearing and his

recent sensitivity to loud noises. He's had hearing aids since he was

about 18 months old - he'll be 4 this March. He will comment that

things are too loud and then want his hearing aids off or out. Sometimes

he'll turn off a hearing aid on his own.

Well, we had his hearing test and his hearing has not changed. The max

he hears unaided is about 60 db. His loss is conductive so he gets a lot

of benefit from his hearing aids. He hears words, sounds, music, etc. We

did enable the hearing aid volume and will see if that makes a

difference. Anyway, thanks for all the input when I posted.
