Guest guest Posted September 28, 2009 Report Share Posted September 28, 2009 Announcing: The Angels Reach School for Exceptional Students is officially open for registration. The Angels Reach School offers children with Autism and related developmental delays a combination of therapy intensive, one to one, clinical program as well as a highly individualized academic program. A maximum of 12 children will be registered, and placed within three separate groups formed according to the children's functioning abilities. The academic component of the school day program will be implemented by a certified, experienced ESE teacher along with a trained therapist as a classroom aide. The student to adult ratio in the academic component will be a minimum of 2:1 or 3:1, depending upon student performance levels, The clinical component will offer therapy sessions in a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio depending upon therapy and child functioning. Clinical and academic goals will be mutually supported. Therapeutic interventions will be implemented intensively for two hours daily, according to each child's Individual Growth Plan. Interventions offered include Verbal Behavior, Language Development, Developmental Play, Socio-Relational, Occupational, and Sensory Integration. Registration is open for children in kindergarten through third grade. Eligible children will be selected according to potential functional grouping possibilities. The Angels Reach School for Exceptional Learners will be taking information for potential students through October 2nd, for those students who will be utilizing McKay funding this school year, and through December 30th for students who will not be utilizing McKay funds.
