Guest guest
Hi!!! Could anybody please tell me , if there is a DAN doctor in the Miami Area. I have been buying tests by myself since my daughter´s primary doctor told me that " recovered autistics are just rumors " . I need to know if Medicaid-waiver covers any of those tests. My daughter is 25 years old, but you know.....I have to keep trying!.Sometimes I don´t know who is more autistic , my daughter or me!! Sequenzia, you were so helpful and kind to me when my daughter was at Kensington Park Elementary....a Long, long time ago. Thanks to all of you. Guest guest
, " Recovered " autistics are just rumors. There's nothing to recover from. Autistics who live happy, fulfilling lives -- as autistic people -- are not. Many of us are even proud of our " autism " (and isn't that a reification mess?). -- Cheezem aspieperspective.blogspot.com Hi!!! Guest guest
Hello : You cannot convince those of us whose children are crying for hours, banging their heads, eating wooden furniture, and other things that autistic people can do are, in reality, happy, well adjusted, and even proud. Many of our children are unable to speak, read, enjoy the company of others or even a movie without experiencing turmoil and pain. - The chemical imbalances they are experiencing are torturing them, and ridiculing those of us who are trying to help our children find peace through natural, non-chemical and non-drug means are deeply insulting. As a person with Asperger's, you are in an entirely different category than many who are on other places on the spectrum. You can speak for yourself as to recovery, but do not ever again assume to speak for everyone else who is affected by autism. Janet Mother of 3 autistic children, Miami > > > Hi!!! Guest guest
-------------------------------------- With respect, yes - you were ridiculing. And you are now, as well, i.e. " This, incidentally, *is* mocking -- or at least mocking one of the sillier assertions contained in your message. " You have no right to insult other people. You seem lost on this point, as does your other friend on this list. I will not respond to any other posts on this matter from either you or her. It is truly a shame that a list that was once a place for support and resources for parents with autistic children here in South Florida has now turned sour and ugly because of a few bad apples.
