I saw an immunologist, who ordered these tests and has made no comments about

them. Would like to get feedback from those in the know.

it looks like these tests show many of the markers that are abnormal

in CFS.

it looks like the DR you went to follows much of the immune research

that has gone on for CFS.

the only test i really know anything about is th IGG1 which is the

major subclass of IGG immunoglobulins.

if this level is low enough they may reccomend treatment with IVIG -

intravenous Immunoglobulins from pooled donated IGG.

you can google IGG subclass deficiency and get more info on this

topic.

some PWCs have reported some benefit from this treatment.

if you don't mind me asking, who is the DR that ran these tests?

thanks

Hi,

I'm not an immune expert but it seems clear that your body is

fighting an active infection based on elevated WBC count and CRP or

possibly an auto immune disorder given this and your elevated TNF.

I would guess infection. Your HHV-6 antibodies although positive

are barely there and it's highly doubtful you have an active HHV-6

infection. I believe my IgG is, or was, 640.

It's sad that he had no comments because these results are an

indicator for further testing, in my opinion. Not to trash

Immunologists but their primary interest is AIDS.

I'm guessing you're either feeling fluish and/or pain with a fever?

If you haven't already done so, I would have a full viral panel

done, all the herpes viruses, along with coxsackie, echo and

hepatitis along with bacterial testing including Chlamydia,

Mycoplasma and Lyme. I'd also test for RA and Lupus to start. That

is if you haven't already done so.

You may have something that is very treatable, you just have to

(hopefully) find out what is causing all that inflammation in your

body. Try your best to find the source with pathogen testing. How

long have you been sick?

Hi Terry

I am not experienced at all in IgG and HHV-6 testing, but I saw that

the immune test posted below showed low IgG subclass 1, maybe, as

somebody posted, that could indicate an IgG subclass 1 deficiency.

My daughter has serum IgA deficiency. IgA is supposed to protect

against infections at mucosal surfaces, but I think since serum IgA

in my daughter`s case cannot increase, her tests for IgA to

different bacteria cannot be trusted, as IgA is always low, no

matter if there is a mucosal infection or not.

So my question is - could the same apply to IgG testing for HHV-6 -

so that if one has IgG defiency, then there will not be very high

HHV-6 IgG?

In any case, antibody testing for herpes viruses can't for sure rule

out active infections and apparently neither can PCR tests.

But really, from the numbers here it really sounds more like a

bacterial infection. Have you even taken any extended course of

antibiotics ? did you ever respond well to them ?

ne,

Have you tried increasing the IgA with with glutamine??? I would use 3-5000 a

day. Away from other protein.

It sounds really odd. During the course of these antibiotics, you

never felt any better ? Not even for a day ?

How the antibody levels look?

BARBIE

Immune testing

Is there a place to see what tests should be performed and what " normal " #'s

are. I just got a copy of Tristens lab work

IgG: 699

IgA: 61

IgM: 65

IgG1:553

IgG2: 111

IgG3: 33

IgG4: 40

She then had her Pneumovax, w/ 12 serotypes

Diptheria: .92

Influenza B: .20

Tetanus: .21

That's all that was tested. Should I ask for more to be done before she

starts her immunoglobulin therapy? She did have another Pneumovax today,

since her #'s were low.

Thanks for the help!

Hello--I'm not a medical expert by far, but I don't think being on

atbs will affect the IGG panel. Atbs can affect the results of

cultures, but I don't think they will affect the IGG numbers. I

would definitely ask the doc before going to the lab, to make sure

he's aware!

Good luck,
