Guest guest
I am impressed Wolfie!!! I wish I could sew!!!! I took some thing in to be made smaller at the tailor and for what they wanted to do it I could go and buy new stuff. Oh well!!! I am going to try and hang on until the summer and then buy some new things. Of course my hubby calls the pants I have now " Clown pants " so I may not make it. But I am hoping to be close to goal by summer and will need a whole new wardrobe by then. Candi You know whats nice?... Whats nice is sitting down with your sewing machine and having to take up clothes that are now to big for ya. lol. Guest guest
Hello Everyone I tell ya give up the old clothes. I just folded up all my old clothes that no longer fit me and I will be taking them to the salvation army or contacting an organization that I heard of that accepts used clothes to help disadvantaged women who are preparing to enter the work force. I am a size 18 now and all of my beautiful work clothes don't fit any more. My clothes are all designer top quality and will do someone else some good. I have no desire whatever to hold on to them because there are even cuter more fashionable clothes for me to buy now and I am buying ladies you can best believe that. I am down to 220 now and I am only 5 pounds away from being in the smallest size range of my panty hose the ladies will know what I am talking about So my view on keeping the old clothes is ... not to keep them at all let go of the past fat clothes and embrace the new sizes the smaller sizes. I love my body and it is getting better and better every day. So keep up the great work everyone and lose the old clothes Lori Anne Lap RNY 8/25/03 293/274 day of surgery/220 current/130 goal

Guest guest
Lori Anne!!!!! It's so great to see you post! I've missed hearing from you. It sounds like you're doing great! Has your outlook changed from when you first had the surgery? I'm just curious, not judging, I thought that you did a wonderful job explaining how you felt and everything, I just wanted to know if anything had changed. Total loss of 73 lbs! Guest guest
Lori Anne, good point about clothes. I'm one to keep taking them in, and save $$, but I am curious though to see what the smaller sizes have in store. I walk by the clothes and literally drool! Did this the other day and saw such a cute jacket/sweater. My husband urged to buy it, but I had no idea what size I would eventually get too, and the fact that it would probably be bathing suit time when the jacket would fit nicely.....left it, but still dreaming of it. Guest guest
Mandy, thrift shops here I come!! I wear/wore only stretch pants, so they'll do for quite awhile. I lost 103# years ago and every 10# I would treat myself to a Saturday session of trying on my clothes and taking the pants in. I got creative towards the end at taking in the waists/crotch besides the side seams. It felt as wonderful as buying new clothes to me at the time. They were " new " because they were a smaller size. At the time I was working and could afford new work clothes, but just a minimum of a wardrobe after the weight loss was $500. I had switched jobs around that time, and sold my clothes at yard sales. They were all pricey, had to be where I was working, wool skirts, silk blouses, heels, etc. We live in an area with a high Indian population. Some of them went crazy over the clothes and snapped them up fast. It was so good to know someone would love this hardly used stuff. The only embarrassing thing was my daughter who was helping me put out my bras!!!!! I cringed, then someone snapped them up happily. Oh well..... Luckily my daughter and 3 nieces think the place to shop is Salvation Army, and I love finding a good buy. There are also high end thrift shops, pricier but big name brands. I never cared about brands though and got my wardrobe from Target. I have a friend who had the surgery 2 weeks prior to me, and she said she'll be combing the thrift stores too. I can't wait until my clothes are too big to wear anymore and I know I won't buy anything new during the transition as it'll be a relatively short time. Of course, I'm not going out in the working world either. I hear you about choices and kids needs. Joan LAP RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282pre-op/275surg/243/140 Re: You know whats nice?... Guest guest
I know I deserve better but truthfully I am kinda enjoying seeing just how big on me the things can get!!! Guest guest
Oh I don't plan on saving them at all!!! I just don't want to buy more until I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TOO!! ) I should have mentioned that I was not expecting to have my surgery until Jan or Feb so just 2 months before I had the surgery in September I bought a bunch of new clothes. See I knew I was going to have the surgery so I didn't buy anything for over a year and finally my day to day type clothes were just rags. So I had to buy some new stuff. Guest guest
I love it Joan!!! I do the same thing. I even try things on. Just to see what size I can wear.
