do any of you know any men that do IE? i know the book is very careful to have

both male and female examples, but at the same time, even just the word

" intuitive " sounds female.

I have a male friend who has been heavy his whole life and a few months ago,

committed to cutting out sweets and exercising every single day. I feel bad

because I have a sense this is doomed to failure. I don't know him well

enough to suggest IE, and i'd probably feel silly anyway since I've only gained

weight so far. but I do believe in the process.

it's really too bad, kind of " reverse sexism " so to speak -- men seem not to be

encouraged to look at the emotional issues behind dieting and eating, they're

just supposed to tough it out at the gym. but of course the issues are

different, it's more acceptable for men to be fat, etc.
