Yeah me too but the docs seem so obliviant to it. My doc said " What are the

HIPAA plice going to search you down " , I hope those who answer these

questions address the entire group. I missed any reference you made to

necessary documentation-where did you read about this?

The documentation piece is one of the biggest pieces of HIPAA. They

don't lay down specifics as they expect each person to have on hand

documentation stating how they are complying. For example, they say

documentation during transport has to be secure. You have to tell them

how you are complying - so basically you need a set of instructions

outlining how you're complying with that.....www.amtag.org had some good

postings on this, not sure if they're still there or not. I just had to

sign a HIPAA contract with my local hospital account, and part of it

states that they can request to see all my HIPAA documentation and I must

provide it within 24 hours. So, I have to do this :-). Local, small

doctor accounts probably won't have much of an issue with this, but

larger hospitals sure will---and since they can be audited for compliance

that means they very well could ask me for the documentation.

Hope that explains it a little bit better! :-)

Hi,

Has anyone located a good locking bag/box to transport your tapes and

reports back and forth to docs offices yet? If so, can you tell me what

you ended up with and where I can get it? :-)

Also, has anyone started to write the necessary documentation that we

have to have on hand? Are there samples anywhere out there? I am SO

dreading doing this!!

Thanks,

They won't let you order just one as there is a minimum of $25.00 and it

costs $22. I think I will head over to Staples with the picture and see

what I can find. UGH

I found the same thing and was really disappointed. I couldn't find any

$3 item to make up the difference, either! Let us know if you find

anything at staples, would you?

Thanks!

Aliceanne,

I couldn't open it as is, but if you enter www.budcobank.com you'll get their

home page. From there you can select the " bags " picture and it will take you to

locking bags. HTH

Hi, all,

Has anyone looked at how CHEAP the price is on these? Only $5.08 each,

plus the self-locking plastic seals......do you think this is HIPAA

compliant? The price sure is right!!!!

When they hear about HIPAA, the price will go up, I'm sure. *G*

The words " HIPAA compliant " are worth about 20 bucks, donchathink?

The " flat " one - there's only one like that on the page. Yes, the color

IS terrible - but so cheap! I'm having a hard time believing it's not a

typo! :-)

I definitely missed it. I guess I could put up with the horrible color
