Hi folks:

While reading on some back issues (I'm still catching up) I ran across

Alan or 's post about adding some soluable fiber, and fat to a

meal to cut back on carbs. Did I read that right? What type of fiber

would you recommend, and also any other ways of cutting back on carb

intake?

I've been thinking in the last month or so, that I may need to go on one

or the other new meds. The one I've considered is one of the new

carb blocking meds. But note this is a very last resort. The reason for

this, is my biggest problem lately is keep from loosing anymore weight.

Maybe I should address that here as well.

I lost 75# after my Rx (July 2004), which helped a lot. But I thought I

stablized at 200#. Yet, dispite my efforts, I continue to loose,

although very very slowly. I lost about another 10# since Janurary. Not

bad, but not sure how far I can go safely. (I hear the BMI is a joke,

and it recommends about 200 for me, even though, at 200# people said I

looked a bit thin)

My problem is, I'm still not fully under control yet. I'm *so*

sensitive, that I can hit 168 fairly easy, even though my fasting runs

around ~95. So I can't eat much. It seems I can eat about only 12 or so

grams of carbs a meal safely to keep my PP levels below 120.

I think I got the dawn effect finally under control however. I arise at

5am, eat a handful of nuts, and drink a pint of water, so this gives me

a fasting of around ~90.

So any advice you can give, would be appreciated.
