Why waste food to save money?

I don't understand why food establishments do this sort of thing.

No wonder we have an obesity problem in our society. I was watching

Must Love Dogs yesterday with Diane Lane. I love how she goes to

the meat counter and asks for 1 chicken breast. The guy at the

counter tries to sell her a whole fryer for just 75 cents more. She

gets really snippy at him, tells him I'm a singe, divorced woman, I

eat at the kitchen sink and alone and I don't want all that food to

go to waste. When you go to the movies and ask for a small popcorn

they try to sell you the large for just 50cents more! I'm sure it's

all about " sales " and " money " but look what it does to our

wastelines! As I write this, it makes me realize that our weight

problems are not because of us! It is because, yes, the stupid diet

industry, but also Capitalistic America!

I commend you for not giving in to this Capitalistic idealism not

paying the extra $6 to split your meal. Maybe if we all did that,

things might change? I don't know, just venting. Sorry.
