Dear group,I am a mom of 3. 4 yr old twin girls one who is on the spectrum but higher functioning and my son who turns 17 in Oct. after a book of Dx over all the years from ADHD, Depression, Opesitional Defiant disorder, anxiety, Bipolar, etc. he was finally Dx last week with PDD-Nos and or Aspbergers was also mentioned. He is extremely high functioning but is missing that social piece. Has been in mainstream classes all through school however never had friends would never answer a telephone & almost doesn't know how to have a typical conversation especially when you discuss life as an adult and his future plans. Because his temper, behaviors are so out of control HEnderson Mental Health has been working with our family with no success. I guess my question to the group is are there any social groups for teens? Are there any type or agencies that could help him & our family? Are there any residential treatment facilities for these young

adults? Last but not least do you know of any agencies,psychiatri sts, psychologists etc that could help us this late in the game? Thank you for taking the time to read my postAileen

Are you registered with CARD? Center for Autism and Related Disabilities

They have a socials skills group for teens on the spectrum.

Roselione and Grana run the group you may want to contact them.

Besides FAU Card Center, have you tried Child Find? It is a Federal program that may be able to help you out. FAU Card Center has a teens support group for kids with Aspergers.
