That would be a great idea Gracie but I don't know of any IE magazines. Does the column come out in every issue of good housekeeping? Eva

My daughter told me that Geneen Roth has a column in Good Housekeeping. I read one last week, and it was great! Just like her books. Speaking of magazines, does anyone know if there's a magazine devoted entirely to IE? I think that would be so cool. So much of what I've read here in the support group online would be perfect for such a mag and would help people who don't get on the computer. Gracie

Actually, I was looking through my library of IE type books last night (for support). I can share some of the titles if you like. Some of them are amazing....one of my favs is the 10 Habits of Naturally Thin People (or something like that - I have to go back & look).Glad you are here, Carole.

Diane,I don't think an IE magazine would be a viable business venture. The diet industry works by selling (products, magazines, diets, etc) and keeping us going through false hope. Then, when the diet fails, as they all do, we are the ones who are held responsible.IE is such a simple concept...Listen to your body, feed your hunger, eat what you want, etc. The concept is simple, the application is difficult. We have so much prior conditioning to overcome. It is so refreshing that mainstream dietitians are beginning to get it. I just finished a course at the local health center (45 hours) and, although they did bring up healthy eating and the Canada food guide, we were also encouraged not to diet, to eat what appeals to us, listen to body hunger, find the point of satiety, etc, etc (sound

familiar?) Carole

I can't believe such a commercial idea hasn't gotten into anybody's head yet. I guess it won't take long, but you know, in one of her books Roth states that the Diet Industry is one of the most profitable ones of the planet, only second to the War Industry, so it might still be a better business for editors to keep publishing stuff about restrictive diets than a whole magazine devoted to IE.

Regards,

Diane
