Guest guest
I have to keep the candy far, far away! With this new job, I find I sit on my butt a lot more and have to force myself to get away from this desk and this screen. I have an " alert " that goes off at 3 in the afternoon that tells me to go walk the treadmill. So the candy doesn't help me at all! And just like you, I LOVE candy! I should have passed up that mark-down table! Suzanne Mattson Hilltop Transcription Service sburg KY

Guest guest
I'm one of those people that is tall and has always been naturally skinny....until I became an MT! Now that I sit on my butt all day it has begun to spread.....and spread.....and...well, you get the idea! Plus, sometimes I get bored with certain docs, so I snack while I type! I've only gained about 15 pounds or so....but it's all on my butt and gut. So I still have skinny arms and legs, but look like the good-year blimp in the midsections! LOL! Guest guest
LOL! Ain't that the truth! My husband and I just began our Farewell to Fat Tour 2003 and just bought a stationary bike at Wal-Mart. Regarding the markdowns at WallyWorld, I did buy 4 new stockings for the price of 1!!! We needed new ones badly. Now, they're all the same size and similar in appearance, and they were *cheap*!!! Now, I must get back to my breakfast of 1 c. dry Cheerios and 1 Kudos bar. Argh. LOL!!!!!!!!!! Re: WalMart Markdowns I'm one of those people that is tall and has always been naturally skinny....until I became an MT! Guest guest
I have never been " naturally skinny " but on the other hand, since I've come home to work, I have become fatter than I have ever been in my life, including when I was pregnant with my kids. I've tried several times to lose weight but all I managed to do was stay the same. My favorite saying " I'm not overweight, I'm undertall " just wasn't working for me As the holidays approached I began gaining again and that really upset me, so when I read about the ChangeOne diet in the Readers Digest, I decided to give it a try. I've been on it almost a week and I've lost 3 lbs. already.. not much, I know, but at least it's progress in the right direction. We'll see how it goes as time goes on. I'm keeping my toes crossed that it continues to work. Jan jantranscribes@... " Typing is my life. " " Whoever signs the paycheck makes the rules. Guest guest
Three pounds is a great start! I hope this diet does work for you. I have the same problem. After I had my first child, I was working outside the home and lost the weight because I did a lot of moving around. After my second child, I started MT work and I haven't lost as much as I want. Of course it didn't help that PMS and Christmas hit all at the same time! LOL! I'm craving that chocolate!! My husband and I bought an electronic treadmill yesterday. We have a manual one, but I hate it because it is hard to keep going and it's always at an incline, and you have to lean forward to hold onto the bars for balance. However, we haven't had the chance to use the new one yet. My husband started to assemble it last night and found that the plastic casing around the motor was cracked with a bunch of pieces missing. Sears must have had a bunch of these with this problem, because when my husband called them this morning, they told him to bring it in and they would give us another one. No problem. He even apologized. They must have dropped a bunch of them. I was actually looking forward to using it. When I tried it in the store, it was much more comfortable. Good luck on your diet!!!! Guest guest
The stationary bike we just bought at Wal-Mart was just over $70, and it is fairly compact. We're parking that sucker in our living room so that we *have* to see it. We're picking up the bike this afternoon, so I'll let ya know if it was worth the $70. LoL. ) Re: WalMart Markdowns I know what you mean. When I worked in-house, I often had to get up and move around, especially when we had to do our own charting. Now that I'm working from home, I'm sure I'm gaining weight because I've become terribly sedentary. I sure wish I had a treadmill, but we live in a tiny 2-bedroom condo and I'm not sure where we'd put it. Jan jantranscribes@... " Typing is my life. " " Whoever signs the paycheck makes the rules. Guest guest
We have this one here in the basement, so we have the space, but actually this treadmill folds up when you're not using it, so that could be an option for you. Guest guest
A folding treadmill sounds awesome! We'd like a treadmill, but our 5-year-old would get on it and never get off! He loves them! He was in physical therapy from age 1 to 5, and walking on the treadmill was part of his therapy. He'd actually choose that as a reward for doing something else! LOL! Also, we live 2 blocks north of a public park that is exactly 1 mile square that people walk around for exercise. ) Re: WalMart Markdowns I used to have a stationary bike that my sister gave me but I ended up having to give it away because my poor knees couldn't take it. Pattie suggested a fold up treadmill and that sounds like something I might be able to find room for. Here in Va. Beach, there's no such thing as a basement because of the water table since we are pretty much at sea level here. Our condo doesn't have a garage either. We have a nice large patio and deck, and I considered putting a treadmill out there, but we'd have to find somewhere to put it if it rains, and since we have very little storage (just a tiny attached shed that we can barely squeeze the lawnmower in) that's not an option either. I'll definitely have to check out the folding treadmill idea Jan jantranscribes@... " Typing is my life. " " Whoever signs the paycheck makes the rules. Guest guest
I've never been what one would consider " thin " but I've worked at home for 3 years now. I've always been a sedentary person--love sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc. I noticed over the last 8 to 10 months that my weight is creeping up on me but what I've noticed even more is the loss of my flexibility and endurance!! I hate that! My sister, the health nut/exercise guru, gave me an exercise ball for Christmas. I love it! She also gave me a yoga and pilates tape with exercise strap and elastic thingy. The exercise ball is very easy and fun to use and I'm working my way up to the yoga and pilates tape! I might actually be there next week:)
Guest guest
I absolutely love candy. We have a Gertrude Hawk chocolate outlet here. They know me. Halloween is cool with the whole assortment. I keep a bowl on my desk. But--I like fruit also, and veggies and dip, so that's a good thing. My work is slow too. That's OK, though. I have hubbies books to close, and considering I didn't even do August disbursements . . .
