Hello:

Is de Denmark or Germany, I forgot? I am happy people in Europe are joining

12-step-free. The abomination of AA is becoming a world problem, like AIDS.

While all people in AA, trying AA, or confounded by AA suffer from Recovery

Group Disorders, there is a quick cure, unlike AIDS.

If you want to quit for good, or become part of legal action against AA try

out www.rational.org/recovery too, your identity is safe joining one of

their discussion groups.

If you want to just get out of AA, ask lots of questions here, but I advise

you that it is wise to keep your true identity OUT of all databases that

might identify you as formerly chemically dependent. I am not concerned

about mine because, as many on this list, I have chosen to risk being known

as formerly chemically dependent.

No, you're in the right group. We're just having a bit of an off-topic

flamewar. People are starting to bow out, so it should run its

course soon.

Welcome to the group. I hope you'll stick around long enough

to see our usual, more civil behavior. :-)

I saw Dottie very briefly today, and she's doing great. Her husband and

5-year-old son showed up, so I didn't stay long, but really, things

seemed to be going well. She was drinking juice and had been up to walk

once.

Hello all,

I am new to the group and new to the concept of intuitive eating. I got online

yesterday and decided to look for weight loss support and found this group

listed among many others. All I knew was that I didn't want to join Weight

Watchers for the umpteenth time. Unlike some of the posts I've been reading here

I am not addicted to the scale. On the contrary - I avoid it like the plague!

I think my problem has always been my ability to live in denial, but I'm 55 now

and it's hard to deny the fact that I have lost much of my mobility. My knees

and lower back hurt so much I can hardly walk. A simple trip to the supermarket

exhausts me so much that I'm finished for the rest of the day. I don't go out

much anymore and often avoid social engagements. I need help, and I know it, but

I don't know what to do. Even now, I question whether or not this approach will

work or if it is just another attempt on my part to avoid having to let go of my

addiction to sugar and other carbs. My eating is certainly emotional. I use

food to compensate myself for everything else in life that I want and don't have

(a successful relationship, financial abundance, etc.).

I look forward to reading some of the books listed and learning more about IE

through the group discussions. Thanks for allowing me to join you.

Best Regards,
