Guest guest
I guess I've go too much time on my hands to scrutinize the UNOS databases. In looking at a few centers I noticed that 2000 and 2001 were the biggest years. Then in looking at the national data 2001 was the biggest year at 519 then it has tapered down to the 320-s the last few years. I'm new to the list and this has probably been looked at before but I can't find a term to use to search the list. Does anyone know the reason? Guest guest
I don't know why they dropped off but in 2001 I know at University Hospital in Indy they did three, one was a baby (she didn't make it), one was a male in his 40's, I believe, he was retransplanted the next week, and me who's liver lasted 3 years (but they knew 3 months after the transplant) before I had to be retransplanted. I don't believe they have attempted any more living donor transplant at that hospital. My guess would be at least for this hospital that they need more time to perfect it. Just my thought.
