Guest guest
Yeah, my mother was beautiful big woman I ever seen. Those days lately since I got this glasses and I got told by several people who knew my mother before she passed away that I look exact like her. At first it bother me but now it has no longer bother me that I look like her. I am lucky to have her as my mother even in short time I had her. I will always treasure that for rest of my life. Guest guest
Eliza,I have found that I have the fondest memories of my Mom are around food. She would bake these small loaves of bread for my sister, brother and I. She would make this incredible stew when it was raining outside. We would put the stew over white rice and eat the bread and we would be in heaven. I can still smell the stew in my memories. I get sad now when I think about that. she has been gone for 15 years. Sad that you lost her so young, but it is great that you have great memories of her. Hold your head up high as your radiate your beauty in your mother's memory. Guest guest
I can relate to this, but in a completely opposite way. I had a very abusive relationship with my mother as a child and she was a pretty bad cook who did not keep much food in the house. I grew up learning to make do with what was in there and to worship " good " or " normal " food whenever I was around it. I realize that now even more while reading these posts. So for me food equaled comfort too much but not in the same way. I found myself as an adult eating to rebel. Hmmm...thanks for the spark. Makes you think. Guest guest
Wow, I am sorry that you had to gone through that terrible relationship with your mother. Warrior, I have gone through just like that for 3 years with a foster mother. Although she was a good cook but she always make sure so small to the point I could not eat more because there were nothing left after. I am glad you have had able to knowledge your issues toward foods and diet foods. Yesterday I have had pizza with veggie lover. Which that was one of my mother's favorite. I feel I should honor not only for my mother but for myself as well. For once I did not feel guilt over that at all. It is amazed feel such thing.
