Guest guest
Ramona--my son is Asperger's, and I started biomedical treatment when he was 10. He is also severely bipolar, and no one expected him to make it past puberty, or if he did, not be very functional. Also has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Voted most likely to be institutionalized. He is 18 now, and doing better each intervention we make. So even though we did not start until 10, and are still adding new treatments, we still see improvements (not with all treatments, but enough so that we keep trying to improve it). I just started low dose naltrexone three weeks ago, and his behavior changed-- he became much less irritable, more considerate and thoughtful, just all around nice. Skin rash is better, but still in pain. You can only do the best you can with the information you have at the time. If you don't know, you can't change or fix it. There will always be something we could have done better, if only we knew. But we didn't. And so many of the things we " know " now, will turn out to be utter nonsense or harmful. Take what you know, build on it, and if something doesn't make sense or feels wrong, listen to that inner voice. Because it may turn out that your instincts and experience are right and science is wrong. Meanwhile, shoulda/woulda/coulda won't help. Get your kid to the DAN doc, take one step and a big breath at a time, go from there. Know that each moment, you are making the best choices you know how with the information you have, and that you are getting more and more info, so your decisions will get better and better. Some interventions will work, some will not. That too, is valuable information. Good luck with your son. > > Hello Ramona: > I see Dr. Udell and I am sure that He will guide you very well. Guest guest
– Dr. Cislo – is right: There will always be that one more thing that we didn’t do. But please know also that not every kid does biomedical treatments, and of those that do, they don’t necessarily improve more than the kids who don’t. Some kids do not respond to biomed, especially those that never had gut issues. Regards, Should I duck?
