Guest guest
I too have been uncomfortable on the lower right, just below my ribcage. My doctor told me I had probably pulled a muscle - but it hurts when I lean to the right, not the left - which is surely what would happen if it was a muscle strain?!! It sort of feels that my liver is too big -if that makes sense??? When it is at its worse, the fatigue sets in, and the itching is worse. Does any one else feel like this? Kym psc 02/06 Recently I have been having problems > with a feeling of fullness under my rib cage in the upper right area. > Sometimes it is just fullness and sometimes it is pain. I have also had > a pulling sensation in my side just below the rib cage.
Guest guest
It sort of feels that my > liver is too big -if that makes sense??? Hi Kym. I too feel as if my liver is several sizes too large, its not painful, I am now aware of the space my liver takes up. I feel it in my right back. I don't notice it too much during the day, but when I lie down in, thats when I feel it. I notice over the years that I have breathed with my lower abdomen. When I had a liver biopsy they asked me to breath in my diaphram, gee that was hard, as felt there was not enough space to breathe deeply. I agree that I notice it more when I am tired. I asked my Doctor about it and he just said to let him know if it became painful.
Guest guest
, I endure the exact same things you mentioned - discomfort at the bottom of my right ribcage, a fullness when I eat, and it feels like my liver is swollen the majority of the time. Like someone else wrote, it hurts worse to lay down and deep breaths are extremely uncomfortable. I hope your doc has some answers for you, but it may just be another part of this game of PSC that little/nothing can be done about. Good luck! Guest guest
You have to sit and stand straight just to keep it from hurting. I understand completely! I wish my liver didn't feel like it was going to explode when I lay down...I'm finding liver pain and fatigue are not a good combo! :-) (MO)PSC & UC '84, chronic pancreatitis '97, listed for tx 06/05for details see www.caringbridge.org/visit/melaniejs

But after she started the Urso her liver shrank... and she started sitting down again... Guest guest
Hi I have experienced this same symptom for years. Usually it is a sign that I have a block and/or infection somewhere. Usually when I experience this I stop eating for about 6 hours and drink a lot of liquid. If I am having the pain I will sometimes take a strong pain pill and sometimes this will relax my body enough for the path to open. Guest guest
I have been on Urso for 5 years. I wonder why this is happening now?? I had read that the liver enlarges with this disease but I have never had a problem. I guess maybe my time has come. I have a doctor's appointment in 2 weeks. I will talk to him then. I had called his office last week but the nurse and I just played phone tag. I didn't have time to try again yesterday. The discomfort is not as bad as it was but I have noticed that it seems to come and go. This is such a strange disease. My best to you and . >>> kjb4me@... 4/24/2006 3:41:31 PM >>> >>>well the good news is that it has done wonders for my posture! lol You have to sit and stand straight just to keep it from hurting.<<< Back before they did 's liver biopsy and started her on the urso, she had this too... she would never sit down to eat, she would always stand up...and really she wouldn't sit down at all...she would either lay down on her belly, or stand straight up...my MIL was convinced she had a kink in her bowel and that is what was causing all her problems. Guest guest
kym Yep. I have it come and go. My hep thinks it is briefly clogged ducts that free themselves after some hours or a couple days. Guest guest
Hi JD thanks for replying. I have been trying to follow a low fat diet recently and have felt no right sided pain since - so I am wondering if it is a diet thing?! Regards, Kym, UK PSC 02/06 I have it come and go.
