Guest guest
Hey usmon! That's cool you're going to Peace Corps. I hope that you will get to work with the disabled/physically challenged children. I always wanted to do that, but I'm afraid it might be too late, cuz I'm already in a field with animals. Yeah, you can add me to your journal list, and you can keep me posted as usual. Oh, FYI Kazistan is right around Russia area, it's in the former Soviet Union, I heard about it. See? I also know my Geography too, cool huh? Anyway, keep us posted alright? Oh Yeah, have fun at the Carribbean too! My mom went there last October, and she had a lot of fun over there! Type back soon, adios amigo! Chip " paulus.khouri " wrote: my interview went well. At first, my recruiter told me that he found a great spot for me in Kazakistan. Where I would be working at the center for handicap children. I thought it would be awesome. For those that do not know where this country is, look at of map, i Kaz land is right under Russia. Sound pretty cold ehh, minus fourty degrees. Of course I could handle it and learn Russian as the same time. Who am I kidding I already know arabic, Russian would be cool to add hahah. So yeah, Im thinking Im going to this place thats freezzing cold. This morning I got a phone call, unfortnantly because my references did not come in on time, the positions for Kazakistan were filled. I know, its terrible isnt it. Then my recruiter siad he had a job opening for me in the Carribean. I was like SCORE BABY! I dont know hwere Im going in the carribean, nor the job Im doing. I do know that I might be doing community developemnt, youth development or working with water bio diversity ( teaching people how to clean water ). So yeah I like tell my best friend kelli about it, and she goes bazerk, we were jumping up and down and hugging each other in the middle of the cafe at my univeristy. Everyone was like what happened. So my friend might come n visit in the summer, will prolly go kayaking or hiking its going to be a BLAST. I am so escited. Of course I ll glady accept care packages : ). Please let me know if you would like to be on my list of people that will be receiving my weekly journals while I am somehwere in the carribean. So like I said, it sucks that Im not going to Kaz land. But Carribean, you have to be kiiding, I mean who wants to go there. But as I think about it, I would enjoy doing either, I feel a little bad that I wont be able to be working with disabled children in Kax land . I hope that the carribean expereicne will have something close to it. My email is paulus.khouri@.... for those that wont to be on my list serve for my journals. Please email me and I ll set it up. Right now I hve to go thru with the physical, it will be fun. The doc does not know what Charge is, so now if anyone else wants to go to peace corps it wont be a problem. Cuz they ll have already met me. known me. LOL Oh to the person about medical issues I had a hard time retracing the message. If you are reading this I need to ask you about sending medical supplies. Could you email me and I ll respond to it. Best regards, Khouri - First CHARGE Peace corps volunteer, Carribean 2006 - 2008. Guest guest
, You might be talking about me with regard to medical issues and supplies. I took the liberty of sending one of your earlier posts to my daughter, (non-CHARGEr) who's in grad school at the U. of Chicago right now but has spent time in Ghana, various places in Europe, South America, and the Marshall Islands in the Pacific. She packed a mighty medical bag before her trek to the South Pacific. If I can figure out how to attach her email here, I'll do that. Don't hesitate to write her. She's known people who've gone all over the world. That was easy - I just checked my address book. 's address is: elizabeth.lewis@.... I'm sure she'll be glad to help.
