I sawmany doctors who said they couldn't see anything. Ifyou look closely I had a small slit at the bottom ofthe vestibule. I have tried everything over theyears. I finally saw a doctor who could "see" whatwas bothering me using a colposcope. He thought allmy problems were from vaginismus - the only time Itighten is when the sore area is being touched, Ithink it is a result of the pain, not what caused it. After 9 months of trying the things he suggested heremoved the horseshoe shape skin that was causing myproblems. It has now been 5 weeks and although it hashealed well (used laser) it is more irritated and sorethan before. He said I would be completely healed in4-6 weeks.Anyone else had laser surgery? I was just wonderingwhat your recovery was like. I really had high hopesthat this would solve my problems (and my marriage). The doctor said he had very good success with thisprocedure. I don't have another appt. for another 3months. I am hoping with a bit more time the sorenesswill go away. Be smarter than spam. Guest guest
I had a successful vulvar vestibulectomy in May of 2001. It took me longer than they told me to recover too. The 4-6 weeks is an average with some women taking less time to heal and some women taking longer. I had the more invasive procedure so my recovery was supposed to be 3 months. I ended up taking about 5 months. But patience paid off. I needed a little help with dialators and PT to help me with that last dialator, but before the year was over my husband and I were having pain free intercourse again. I had to take it slow at first, but I had nothing like the pain I experienced before surgery. Honestly I have not heard of any women recovering enough for intercourse much sooner than 3 months out dispite which procedure they had done. I would wait until then and see how much you improve. You would be supprised what difference a couple few weeks can make. Bunny
