Guest guest
, It was signed by many countries governments including by Bill Clinton. Some formula companies adhere but many do not. Nestle is completely blatant about their marketing strategies. Wendi Re: The Innocenti Declaration. I had some questions on this declaration for formula companies. Were these just made up as guidlines for them to follow or was it more of a " this is how it should be but we can't force you to adhere " . Do these guidlines have any legal validity? Are they actually upheld by anyone anywhere that we know of? And if they can be enforced somehow ,by the government or whoever, why aren't they? , mum to (aka peach)12-22-98 << Message: The Innocenti Declaration. >>
Guest guest
, I am kind of where you are. I don't know why it can't be enforce, but I think it is because it was a political move in the first place. I am not sure what we can do. I think we should write as many government officials as possible. I am going to be looking in to my local hospital's policies and am active in La Leche League. I breastfeed in public whenever Zaid wants to and he is 19 months old. I try to inform as many people as possible and am trying to figure out more ways to make a difference. Wendi Re: The Innocenti Declaration. I feel I am about to ask a stupid question here, but I have to ask or I'll never know. Whyare they not geting punished for not upholding it? I myself have never even heard of this declaration so I don't think the govrnment is doing a very good job of upholding it. I myself received enfamil from the hospital in large quantities I might add and I was at a military hospital so you would figure they would not be taking the kckbacks I am positive they are receiving. Now that I know about this list I am furious! I know so many people who would have b fed their children had this been enforced and had they been more educated. As far as the WIC office here, we were on it in the begining and must say they have the educated people there to teach about b feeding but I never heard them talk aboout it. Not very encouraging to stop wanting to spend good hard earned tax money if you ask me. Is there nothing we can do to make things like this declaration known? Is this something we should try to write our congressman about? , mum to (aka peach)12-22-98 << Message: Re: The Innocenti Declaration. >>
