Guest guest
I did a lot of research on this when my kids were tiny. Both of them are very low in histamine. Both of their grandmothers have/had low stomach acid/pernicious anemia. I had done some research(we are talking at least 15 years ago, from memory) that showed that children of alcoholics(my father was) are often thiamine deficient, as are their children. Mike's B vitamins have been tested every 6 months since age two, and the one vitamin we had to be particularly careful about supplementing is thiamine. The only B vitamins he tolerated forever(until Ojibwa tea) that DIDN'T induce petit mals were B6, B12, and thiamine. My " normal " daughter has put herself on carnosine and B6 at college. She found herself spacing out in long science labs. She has always talked way to fast for most people's taste lol. When she's taking these supplements, she's literally a different person. Her ability to train for her sport (running) without injury has improved dramatically, and her lap times " on " and " off " are measureably different. As for Mike, he does well alternating carnosine/carnitine. He can't take either every day. He definitely feels " poisoned " if he gets too much carnosine. If he starts getting skin fungal infections, carnitine will clear it. I have wondered if transdermsl TTFD would " fix " some of his chemistry-but I'm a little afraid to try it. -what do you think? [ ] Are we recognizing thiamine deficiency and is there a carnosine/thiamine connection? > Listmates, > > Carnosine is made up of histidine and beta-alanine. Taking histidine can > (apparently) be helpful if you are thiamine-deficient. That's pretty amazing, and maybe should make us think that > if anti-histamines are working (and maybe if carnosine is working????), > maybe the REAL problem is thiamine deficiency! I would REALLY like to hear > > ======================================================= >
