Guest guest
Ok We have been through the mill of, stool tests, endoscopy and colonoscopy with my two year old son. He is not ASD. His problem has been chronic loose stools and some weight loss and yoyoing. All the tests have come up negative. Negative for blood in his stool, negative for parasite, negative for virus, he is producing enzymes that he should, and there is no inflamation either grossly or microscopically speaking.. So we have been given the diagnosis of non-specific childhood diahrea and patted on the head and sent on our way being told to push fats and fiber, avoid juices and give him a half a teaspoon of immodium twice a day for a week and then 1/4 tsp for a few days and then none and see what happens.. Ok I'm doing the immodium.. just because I still have two weeks yet till I have time to really concentrate on diet.. Can and will this diet help him.. if the medicine does not 'break the cycle'? And sure the immodium is working.. to my son's distress.. hehe he had a rather large firm BM last night and was distressed about it being there in his diaper.. I am also questioning if it is a holding thing.. he had three enemas in prep for the colonoscopy and each time it took almost an hour till he let it out.. and That can cause trouble to can't it? Any way now I digress.. sorry! Have at it!
