Guest guest
Does anyone know off-hand if lactulose is scd-legal? I'm trying to find something to get 's bowels running again so I can get away from the enemas. I just added 200mg of magnesium citrate to her yogurt, but I'm afraid it's going to end up causing cramps. Thanks! There is also info on the two websites below. Carol F.
Guest guest
Hi Rose, Sorry, but lactulose contains illegals. For children starting the diet it is a good idea to try the intro diet http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#intro at least for a couple of days. Usually 1-3 days depending on the severity of the constipation. One day if the constipation is severe and three days if less severe. For some people the diet is enough to help clear up constipation. If the constipation does not clear up with diet alone then please consider proceeding with the constipation protocol. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/constipatio n.htm and this link also about constipation and diet: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/constipatio n_continued.htm After the intro diet: Contrary to popular belief raw fruits & vegetables seem to only compound the constipation problem. The bowel needs to do some healing before using raw fruits & vegetables. After the intro diet you will want to continue to peel and cook all fruits and veggies. Until more healing occurs most have found it best avoid foods with seeds that aren't easily removed such as strawberries, blueberries etc. at least until bowel movements become more regular. After some healing they'll be tolerated better. An alternative to this is to use a food mill* for the cooked food. With a food mill you can skip the peeling and deseeding because the plates in the mill sieve out the skins and seeds. For those who have trouble getting their children to eat cooked vegetables and fruits please check out the recipe section for ideas on how to hide cooked fruit and vegetables in foods. http://pecanbread.com/recipes.html Examples include: " Sneaky pancakes " , " 's muffins " and " Avacado Meatloaf " Sheila > > Does anyone know off-hand if lactulose is scd-legal?
