I am thinking that there must be a local hotline of rescue for women in your area. They are very well equipped to help women escape without notice. Can you call a local large church and ask if they have a referral for this? Call your local YWCA and they might have a source. Did you look up in your local yellow pages under shelter? Try the fire department. They have sources of all this sort. Also, I would call 911. Tell them this is not an immediate emergency but it is emanate that will set the tone for the dispatch person on the phone. Police handle domestic disturbance and I am sure they will have a resource or two you can call.. DO NOT HESITATE to call these sources. That is why we have such sources in the United States! Best of luck to you. Keep us informed. Debbi
Guest guest
Sue K, for the moment how about an air cast? I think they can be bought at a medical supply. Your your stuff getting into your car, how about a nieborhood kid or two? or women in your nieborhood? Your dog, Are you looking for a temperary place or full term? I could contact my greyhound group. They are from around the country. I can see if someone in NC will keep him for a while. We always work together like that. Another thought is to put everything in your car, leave your car at a friends, and take a buss to PA or RI I don't know I'm just reaching out trying to help somehow. C. I Need HELP SOS! HI Guys, YOu are my last chance. I am trying to get out of the house that my husband and I Live in in Holly Springs NC. I have called all kinds of social service numbers. I need help moving my things. My husband has fallen onme and broke my foot a few days ago but I can't go to th ER because it is my driving foot so I can't have it casted not unless I get top where I am going. Everytime he bully's me for the keys he goes and gets more Vanilla to drink. He face is so swolen I don't even recognize it. He has already been taken to the ER once but they sent him home. Apparently poisoning by vanilla and wine is not grounds for committal. If anyone knows of an human service agency that could help me with loading my car, funds, etc.... I need to get to PA safely, then ultimately to Rhode Island where a friend has grasiously offered me a room but I can only bring two of my three dogs. How do you leave what I consider a child behind? I have called golden rescue but they havemn't returned my calls. SUe K
Guest guest
Sue, If you feel your husband is a danger to you or himself, call the police and have them come to your home. They can help you move things and protect you from further threats or injury. Yoru safety is your first priority. From everything you have said in the past about his alcohol and violence problems, YOU NEED THE POLICE INVOLVED. Once they are there, they can help you find the appropriate services to assist you further. -Barb
Guest guest
Sue, OH DEAR, you can call an ambulance or non-urgent ambulance for transport to the Er to get that foot cast etc (or at least you can here), as to the rest of the stuff, contact local churches, they may be more likely to help, they can probably come up with some parishiners to pack your car or to help get a train ticket etc for you (you can put your puppies into transport on the train and this will be safer than trying to drive with a broken foot), as to the 3 doggies, (I say TAKE all 3, and if need be try to find someone at the other end to look after number 3 for you (they are like children), here in OZ, we have a respite care service for doggies and cats for people with disabilities, serious illness etc where they can look after them for you, walk them and even help place them in new homes if this is needed (they helped place my mother in laws 2 cats when she had to go into a nursing home). Hope this helps Sharon > HI Guys, > > YOu are my last chance. I am trying to get out of the house that my husband > and I Live in in Holly Springs NC. Guest guest
Sue, If you must find a home for your golden I might be able to help. A couple in Virginia is interested. They would be 5 miles off the Xpressway on you way north. They have cats and want to know if your babe is cat safe. Boy girl, how old? I hope it doesn't come to this, but if you must, they are good people and would give the dog a good home. Let me know. C. I Need HELP SOS! HI Guys, YOu are my last chance.
