Guest guest
We slept in because we stayed up late :-) We rented " Office Space " and stopped it every hour to watch the CTV 2000 coverage (Canadian) of all the time zones. Didn't Paris have AMAZING fireworks? I loved them! We played " Frustration " (Trouble) with Arran, ate quesadeas (sp?) and pizza. drank beer, I got sparkling apple juice (not as good as grape IMHO) and then I played Dominos with Arran. had gotten up early to go into work that day so he was pretty tired by the time midnight rolled around. Keely hadn't napped all day, Arran had a friend over for a little bit but walked her home at 10. Arran and I finished our Dominos game at 11:58, just in time to watch the time change here in Edmonton. Keely was sooooo tired, she started whining for " mum mums " to go to sleep and saying " beeeeed " lol So at midnight I was nursing her to sleep (she didn't even make it to 12 lol) with Arran cuddled up with me on the couch, that will be a nice memory, what better place to be huh? sort of dozed in the rocking chair and I had to ask him for a New Years kiss, we didn't even toast. We went straight to bed afterwards, I put Keely in her new bed but she climbed in with us at some point. We got to sleep in until 10:30, Arran was the first up. We just finished watching " The General's Daughter " that we rented yesterday too, it was really good. It's snowing here now and getting pretty cold. I am going to go have a shower and then I have to clean up my desk because is switching my computer desk (at my request) when one of his friends comes over later. Right now I have a huge office type desk which takes up too much room in the livingroom so I'm ging to get my roll top desk back again (minus the roll top). Catch you all later :-) Happy New Year! Guest guest
I thought I would let you all know what we did on New Year's Eve as well! We spent the day at home being lazy .. always nice. I did take Mae to the DR to recheck her ears and they're are clear! Another plus!! About 7 PM we headed over to my MIL's house for a little get together. My SIL and BIL were there (they are kid-less), my MIL and FIL, Papou (DH's Grandfather) and then us with the kids. We ate tons of snack food: fresh shrimp w/ cocktail sauce, crap dip with crackers, Greek honey cake, chex mix, veggies and dip .. You get the gist. (I even had a few beers!! <~~PARTY ANIMAL) We played cards and watched live coverage of each city's New Year celebration.. along with Paris .. Moscow was really neat too and we watched London as well! We put in a movie for (Rudolph's Shiny New Year) and generally just hung out and chatted. About 11:45, Mae woke up (to ring in the new year). We got out our kazoos, hand held noise makers, and little paper things to throw. We all toasted the New Year with Champagne (and Sprite for !) we kissed and cheered and had a great time! We took tons of pictures of the kidlets so we could show them what they were doing when the clock rolled over! It truly was the best New Year's Eve I've ever spent! And DH agreed. MIL, FIL, SIL and BIL left for the Casino in Windsor shortly after the clock struck 12. We are not big gamblers but they are. Then we put the OVER-tired, OVER-stimulated kids to bed and went to bed ourselves. All in all it was a wonderful time and we ate too much food and ate even more the next day. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!! <3 , Tom, and Madeline
