Guest guest
Hi Kim, Happy Easter We use Diabetic Tussin (get it at CVS) or Something like " s 5 Action Clear Cough/Cold Formula " ...can't remember the name off hand. Have had no problems so far w/ either. We get the 5 Action thing at , don't think CVS carries it. Hope he feels better. Guest guest
Hi Kim, We use Otrivine pediatric nose drops for . Seems to work well for him. We give one dose at bedtime, sometimes we have to give another at around midnight, and this keeps him clear till morning. Probably max 5 days of night doses, but this has always been long enough in the past to get him over the worst patch of congestion and that awful post nasal drip that causes the cough and sleep problems. Even if you do find a keto friendly oral decongestant (like the diabetic ones) I have always been very wary of any meds with any kind of antihistamine. > Hello and happy easter to everyone, > If anyone checks their mail today , does anyone have a suggestion for a > decongestant that is keto friendly?? Guest guest
Hi Barb and everyone who responded to my email about decongestants. I never even thought about trying nose drops either. I appreciate all advice and hope everyone is well. kim tanner
Guest guest
I prefer to use pediatric nose drops ......so it's a fast acting thing that affects the nose only.... doesn't go through the entire system. The ones I use are called " Little Noses " , available in any supermarket or drug store, I imagine. It tends to really dry them out, though.... and then they can have kind of a rebound stuffiness during the day so I also like to use the lowest suggested dosage (I even use these " baby " nose drops myself..... it works!), only use it once in 24 hours and alternate with plain saline (you can buy this, too..... usually sold as a saline nasal spray) to help loosen things up. Anyway, this way there are no carbs added.... and no artificial sweeteners or other ingredients that are added to other types of cold remedies. Rubbing plain-old Vick's vapo-rub on their chest also helps unstuff their nose.... since the mentholated fumes rise up and they breath them in. Patti re: keto-friendly decongestant Hello and happy easter to everyone, If anyone checks their mail today , does anyone have a suggestion for a decongestant that is keto friendly?? Grant has really bad postnasal drip and is up coughing all night long so I need to find somethng that will help dry up his sinuses. It is really causing bad sleep problems. thank you .
