Guest guest
By the way, we are from TN. Sorry for the confusion. I got to come home for a moment. We went into hospital a week ago Tuesay. He was put into CCU because is blood pressure was so low. They took him off of his water pills. Guess what happened. Yep, he gained 16 pounds in like three days. So they started him on Albumin. Finally, they let him start back on the Bumex on Monday. By today, Wednesday he had lost 18 pounds! They cut the Bumex back and started IV potassium because, you guessed it, his potassium was too low. Since last week he has had, 8 doses of Albumin, 1 unit of blood, 4 units of Iron, 6 doses of IV potassium, 3 shots of Vitamin K, a dose of Vitamin D in addition to the discovery of an adrenal insufficiancy. He is now taking Cortef and shots of hydrocordisone! We have to monitor is blood sugar now and take a pill if they gets high. Gee Wheez! They put him on a low carb, low protein, low sodium diet. He is loving that! In the meantime, his MELD is holding steady at a 15. We are scheduled for an appointment at Vanderbilt on April 10. It's time to find out about living donors. Please let me know the best doctors and hospitals for living donor transplants. Vanderbilt is just beginning the program, and I don't want to be the guinea pig. Thanks to all of you who have been praying for us. Hopefully, he will be home soon. wife of
