Guest guest
Not all people enjoy reading like some do. I enjoy it therefore I really find those lil facts most skim over and miss. There are loads of info other than what you read on your first time thru. I suggest you find a quiet time when you are not stressed and really read the book. Keep a notepad next to you, jot down things you need to remember the answers to. Also, go to our Files section. There are many helpful Phase 1 recipes, hints and tips there. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It- Right/files/Phase%20One/ There is also a listing of approved foods on Phase 1. You keep mentioning eggs, salad and veggies. Where is your protein/meat source? Are you a vegetarian? You think you can't follow it before you even start therefore you've already set yourself up to fail. As Dr. Phil says, You're asking for disaster even before you've given it a chance to work. The following phrase has stuck in my mind since my high school days and I've always found it to be true: " Whether You Think You Can or You Can't, You're Right " . If you go into it thinking, I can do this, you're right. If you go into it thinking, I can't, you're right. Negativity only brings about negative happenings. Going into it with positive thinking " you can do it " will bring about positive results. I know you 'want' to lose weight but....are you willing to make the commitment it takes and changes to really do it? We all 'want' to lose weight but we're not all at the place in our life where we are ready for that commitment. It's more than just wanting to do it, it's taking the necessary path to making life changes to insure success is reached. Are you willing to eat the foods in phase 1? Are you willing to add a bit of exercise in? Are you willing to do the positive self talk to keep you on track and block out the negativity? Are you willing to take the time it takes to plan your menus, take extra care to have meals on hand when time doesn't allow a sit down meal, back up for when life calls and you can't follow your well laid out menus. Losing weight has it's benefits but it all comes at a price. Are you willing at this time to dedicate the time/price it takes to reach success? That is the most important question you need to ask yourself and ponder your answer. I know you can do it, each and everyone here can, it's the question, are we ready to do it? I wish you much luck in whatever you choose to do. :-) Connie
