I dont know about you, but not me! Not unless the other breast is " empty " --I

always leak on both sides(6 mo post)

Good job. It seems like my milk only lets down one side at a time. I don't

know for sure but it feels that way.

Glad it's not just me! Yeah, I didn't feel it at first either! Funny. So

I have a question. As my body gets used to breastfeeding, will just one

side let down at a time? I am leaking less than before but I'm still

leaking.

Corey had his one month visit today and I was shocked to see that he's up to

13lbs, 7 oz! He is off the charts for weight, and in the 95%ile for length

at 23inches. That's my little tank! He is very healthy.

When I went in about 6 weeks ago for my post-partum visit, they did the WHOLE

shibang... pelvic and breast exam. Of course I was ENGORGED and LEAKING

everywhere that day. LOL But I guess this way, I can avoid going to the

doctor for a female visit another year at least since the pap came back

negative. *I was REALLY relieved when the midwife said I didn't have to go

thru that again for a year ))

I never leak at all. It doesn't matter how long it has been. With both my kids

I leaked in the first 3 weeks only and that was it.

lol--I understand---I just hate when I wake up feeling like I " M in the

Wow, !! That is incredible? Are you sure you aren't feeding him

They should've paraded the two of you all thru the clinic and the post

partum ward saying *this* is what a breastfed baby looks like.

I have one breast that lets down about 2-3 mins before the other one.

OK, I have to share too!

Emma had her 2 month checkup yesterday, and she now weighs 14 pounds and is

22 1/4 inches long! She was only 6 pounds 12 ounces when she was born.

Must be the breastmilk!!

Alli,

Its all relative, I have always struggled to have enough milk and have a

very hard time ever having a stash of milk. I would prefer to leak if I

could have a freezer full of milk.

Wow! My oldest was 6'4 " at birth and only weighed 17 lbs at a year on

breastmilk. You got some strong stuff girl!

My midwife told me the new recommendation is every two years after you have a

normal pap.

Paige is now 4 1/2 months old and I still leak out of the other breast when

she nurses, although not as much. I still have to wear nursing pads every

time I nurse.

I had a c-section, and an internal at my 6 week. not fun! jenn

Ive heard that too... but there is just too much in my past that makes me

uncomfortable with that. It just irks me that almost all STDs have high

risks for cancer in its women victims and not men... and that most viral

ones can remain dormant for years.

A close friend of mine called me in tears last week. She had breastfed her

only daughter for a year, and her ex-husband just informed her that he had

herpes... but since his doctor told him that it could take up to 5 years

before anyone he infected had symptoms, that he chose not to tell her then.

She was mortified that she might have passed it onto her daughter! The

sad part is that if she had any lesions on her cervix or in her vagina

during delivery her daughter could have been affected! It also carries a

long term risk for cervical cancer as well as shingles... and genital warts

are a long-term risk for cervical cancer too -- thats not something many

people know.

And no, you cant pass herpes through breastmilk, but you can through an

open sore on the breast or nipple.

isn't nursing on so I don't start leaking.
