Guest guest
hmmm taking a coffee enema doesn't sound like any fun to me at all, but I'm not a enema type of girl either. If we're supposed to avoid Caffeine, this wouldn't be something I'd even consider. What is the purpose of it? I have been to chiropractors before, for whiplash from a wreck. The last time I went was for back pain, but it was before i finally weaned off the atd's which were making me very hypo, and bring on the back pain. That round didn't help me one bit. I hurt much more than I did with his treatments than without them, and had to fire him. I did find that he didn't help one bit with thyroid related problems. Once my meds were reduced, after I stopped seeing him, things were much better. Then the hypoT problems were addressed with Armour. So far, so good. :-) SandyE~Houston Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation A chiropractic /accupuncturist doctor friend of mine did coffee enemas at night to be keep himself awake to do late night work he had to catch up on. So it does work to keep people awake, if that's what one wants. I tired a coffee enema at night once & that was the last time I did it. I was wired all night. I can't do caffeine at all. Guest guest
Oh...the Primal Defense you mean? Good idea to do herbs/supplements one at a time. I used to but then started taking formulas & adding other stuff to that on top of other stuff. I figure more good stuff can't hurt. Gone bonkers on taking way too many things at times (like now) tho, that's fer shure. Yes, I recall a healer friend years ago telling me she was taking raw adrenal w/L-tyrozine just for her allergies. I haven't had too much allergy trouble since Spring tho so not taking anything for that right now. Absolutely fasting, juicing & colon cleansing all at the same time truly do work way better. I've done that many times & know it's more effective. I haven't a clue what a colonic board is or looks like. What is it? What do you do with it? Is it like a slant board or an inversion thingie? I've been reading/hearing about the far-infrared personal model portable saunas. They're supposed to detox the whole body/mind & make a person feel rejuvenated, gloriously healthy, happy & energetic. Very pricey tho starting at about $2300. I'd have to get real motivated & paint a few big paintings & sell them to afford one. Not likely it's going to happen any time soon, if at all. I'm not even motivated enough right now to ask my son to co-sign to buy one on time for $46./month payments either. Then I'd feel obligated to pay him back, like I'd then HAVE to paint & sell something no matter what. And he's already having to fix my car many times & buy me another one if this one isn't fixable this time. I need a car before I'd need a sauna. Or is that crazy thinking that having a car that runs is more of a priority than is my health? I mean sheesh, I've already spent a mint on nutri-supplements, why not spend more on a sauna & see how that works? For what I've been spending on supplements I could be buying two saunas, one for each foot...er head...er........never mind. MM Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation Ive seen the colon cleanse you are describing.I havent used it though. If i remember i think it had other stuff in it?not sure? Guest guest
At the time I did this, they said to just ingest the blue green algae formula & that's all. No juices, no enemas, nothing else. I never tried that kind of fasting tho. Tho on the brochure that came with the product, it had testimonials from people who'd done it with great success. They did it periodically for a few days to a week a few times a year in fact to stay well. I figure I'm doing okay with drinking it a few times a day with wheat grass powder & the other stuff I put into the drink. It's helping, I know it is. Keeps the weight off, that's fer shure. No I don't use fruit juice in my smoothies. Tried that & it curdled with the soy milk at the time. Prolly wouldn't using just water tho. But now I'm using the almond & /or coconut milk instead so fruit juice might curdle it. Don't want that. Yes staying healthy is a lot of work. I used to work on it hours & hours a day when I was younger. Not anymore tho. Not so sure it's worth it at my age in my circumstances with not much future to look forward to anymore. Maybe I'll feel differently after I start taking the natural thyroid tho, who knows? Right now tho I'm not willing to go to all that much trouble anymore. For what? For who? Sounds cynical I know...but that's me right now. If I felt I had more to live for I might feel differently. I suppose I might feel more like doing more if I even had spiritual reasons for doing so. But I haven't even got that anymore. Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation Ive never heard of someone doing this, ill have to keep this in mind. That was a good idea juicing and taking sprirulina when doing enemas. You prob spared yourself a few aches and pains!! You were smarter then me!! Juicing is a pain in the butt i dont enjoy it either, and mine is a very complicated one to put together.I need to get one thats easier to use some day. Your smooties sound very healthy.Do you use juice in them?Keeping healthy takes alot of work ,but its worth it ,right?
Guest guest
Oh yeah, I'm with you. I'm not doing any radical fasting, juicing or colon cleansing until I get my thyroid working better & feel up to it. And even then no colon cleansing like enemas or colonics anymore. I'm too depressed, apathetic, unmotivated right now to even have the self-discipline for any of that anymore. If the thyroid supplementation doesn't help me or I can't find a good doctor, to hell with it all..then the sooner I get out of this achey-breaky body & depressing, no-nothing life, the better. Hate to be so blunt & cynical but there you have it. That's me as I am. Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation i've seen the colon boards and the way my bathroom is configured it wouldn't work..... then rebecca romijn was on stern and she mentioned him. so i thought, maybe if these people are getting amazing results, he ain't so bad. those who mentioned the colon cleanse do mention the prep is TOUGH. weeks of fasting on smoothies and juices only. Guest guest
Oh, the liver processing...who knew? I thought the liver was only for processing toxins & poisons out of the system. Of course it would want to keep the good stuff for the body's use. I learn something new everyday here. Thx, Baron Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation it could have less to do with thyroid function than it does with helping your liver process your thyroid meds better. i believe T hormone conversion takes place in the liver. baron
Guest guest
Yeah, I hope it changes for all of us too. At least we haven't quit trying to work on it every which way we can. Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation i felt that way for a long time, but having researched this disease more, and through finding groups like these and realizing that my pain and suffering isn't lifelong and that there really is hope for getting better, i'm more optimistic. which isn't to say i don't have my hard days. so i understand how you feel. i hope it changes. best, baron
Guest guest
I make very little money and have to order whatever when I can afford it. I juggle the thyroid testing and am overdue on that, but will never let myself run out of Armour, at the very least. I still need to order the chlorella, but haven't done so because of the money, so that has to wait a little while. I just do it all when I can. It IS overwhelming. I can't even afford a doctor, as hundreds of dollars at once is just too much, and I have no insurance either. This is why I get my own labs done and order my own meds of whatever kind, as there are also no doctors here that I trust with my thyroid. I've taught myself a lot about meds over the yrs, plus I have the family gene, lol. Medical, but not much the mainstream kind. Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation > > Oh yes, parasites...yet another problem to be treated. It's all too overwhelming & expensive for some, like me. Guest guest
I'm not being funny, but why not just drink the coffe, since it has a better chance of reaching the liver through the digestive system going from the other end, rather starting with the colon?! Re: Re: concerning elevated cortisol..... my current MYSTERY situation > > Baron, > > I use Hulda s method ,and have kinda thrown in a few more things ,that ive gathered from other sources. If you are interested in this kinda stuff, there is a informative website called curezone, ive learned alot from peoples experiences there,by just reading what has worked for them. > > > > For colon cleansing i use bentoniteclay liquid/psylium husk powder together with good results.Ive used a few but i like this one > I havent tried a colonic ,but i want to.From what i gather, it is quicker then the other method for cleasning. And it costs more. > > I was told by a nat/dr to start doing coffee enemas to cleanse my liver,so that is why i do those. It definatley took some getting use too!! > > sabrina
Guest guest
Well, otherwise, we'd be saying that it's going to burn the toxins out, hehe. I just don't understand why it can't be drunk instead. More fun that way.
