,

Congratulations on the weight loss. And let us know, after going off those pills, if we need to offer further congratulations about 9 months from now!

That is awesome! It looks like is the winner of the 5 lb challenge, or was she even in the 5 lb challenge? LOL Well she is a winner no matter because she is a great one week loser! Congratulations on that wonderful loss. Cheryl Ü Hi everyone, I just had to say-after being stalled fora couple of weeks, I have a 5 pound weight loss forthis week. I doubled up on water, and, for those whohave been asking about birth control pills-I went offthem about a week and a half ago. I don't know ifthat had anything to do with the loss, just kind ofinteresting. in TXGet more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

Congratulations on the 5 lb weight loss. It's likely the Armour that's doing

that, don't you think? Sandy, why don't you try doing what I do to keep my

weight normalized if you're planning on more dieting? I never go over 20 lbs

either way. I just drink my smoothie in the morning & at night with dinner. I

eat a small lunch, generally a salad but sometimes some chicken or cooked

veggies or a veggie/chicken soup I make myself with maybe some barley in it or

broken amaranth noodles or other such high protein grain or lentils.

At times I make twice as much smoothie in the morning, drink a huge tall glass

in the morning, take my supplements, then aren't hungry until lunch. So then I

drink another smaller glass of it at lunchtime with a salad or something light.

Then another small glass at dinner & hardly ever feel hungry 'tween meals except

to snack on sunflower seeds or other nuts or some fruit maybe. You could just

drink the smoothie 3x a day & not eat anything else & still get all the

nutrition you need. Except you may have to still take the B vitamins & such

you're already taking.

I'm not getting any exercise at all now & haven't since March when I hurt my

back & hip. And haven't gained a bit of weight doing the above. Though I was

gaining weight steadily before I started doing this smoothie thing.

I'll stay on it for life if I can. I get nearly all the

vitamins-minerals-proteins I need in the super food green powders I put into the

smoothies plus another liquid vita-min-amino acid formula I take 2-3x a day. It

hasn't been enough to keep the aches, pains & tiredness or depression at bay

lately tho. I think a lot of that might have been because I was making the

smoothie with soy milk & then adding a soy protein powder supplement to it. I'm

not doing that anymore now tho, just adding water & maybe l/2 a banana or a bit

of other fruit for flavoring as of about a month ago. I'm going to start making

it with coconut milk or almond milk mixed with water tho. That should taste

delicious.

A lot of the symptoms for me tho, especially depression & tiredness, even the

aches & pains, is being so lonely & not doing much because of my injuries &

lacking the proper thyroid supplementation from what I'm learning here. But the

weight problem is long gone & I'm not gaining at all but have even been losing a

couple of pounds a month even being so sedentary. I'm out of shape & have a bit

of a belly for my size, yes. But no other overall weight gain. My legs & arms

are thin in fact.

weight loss

I have no idea how I managed to lose 5 lbs, but I have. That was so exciting!

Weight control is my next plan of action as I'd like to be able to drop these

excess lbs! I've never been much on diets and such, but losing weight always

excites me! lol. I don't own any scales at home, so you can imagine how

surprised I was when I hit the office scales and saw this! Makes me wonder

because it's been at least a year since I've lost weight, and then it was 24

lbs, a year ago this month. Before that, it was 14 yrs ago and I dropped a lot

of weight under very stressful conditions.

I have no special smoothie recipes, just my own concoction. Mine taste rather

bland & chalky too if I don't add a banana, other fruit or sweetener. I just

drink them down anyway if I'm out of fruit or sweetener. This past week I've

used only water in mine & had no fruit except some canned fruit in pear juice

concentrate. So I dumped a bit of that into it.

Here's the recipe I plan to use this coming week if you're interested:

I make enough for 3, 6oz glasses of it a day.

2/3 water to 1/2 coconut milk (or almond milk) more or less.

I scoop (prox. 2 TBSP) lecithin granules

1 scoop ground organic flax seed

1 scoop oat bran

1 capful Udo's Oil Blend

1 scoop wheat germ

1/2 banana or, if none, other fruit (apples, pears, peaches, etc.)

1 TBSP spirulina powder

1 TBSP wheat grass powder

Add Stevia or other natural sweetener to taste.

Blend thoroughly in blender. Drink tall 8 oz glass for breakfast. Divide the

rest between lunch & /or dinner. Or drink between meals.

Caroline, if you have a thyroid issue peaches, lecithin and flax seed are

all going to block the meds and make you ache.

Lecithin & peaches too??? Good grief!! What the hell is left for me to eat &

treat the cholesterol & triglycerides then???

Stop the % & #$ & % & #$ & % planet, I want to get off!!!!! This is just getting to be

way too complicated, confusing & restrictive for me.

When you get oyur thyroid feeling better with the right hormones your

cholesterol will lower by itself! High cholesterol is a major symptom of

hypothyroidism.

Geez, I'm surprised you're not saying bananas & peanut butter aren't bad for

thyroid function too. No loss about the peanut butter for me tho...not that

crazy about it. At least if I could have those I'd be having a bit of protein &

potassium, if nothing else. Wouldn't do much for the cholesterol or triglyceride

levels tho, I'm sure.

My cholesterol has been perfectly normal for a couple of years now. Ditto the

triglycerides on the lecithin, flax seed, oat bran, etc. daily drink. So all I

need to ingest is the Armour thyroid & forget eating other foods that throw it

off, right? How am I going to subsist on just thyroid supplement alone?I'm so

food restricted already. I gotta eat something after all. Or do I? Too bad I

wasn't born a rabbit so I'd love to eat only salads & raw veggies, which I hate

as a steady diet. I could starve I guess & then there'd be no thyroid or body to

worry about anymore. Seems way easier that way more & more here.

I'm allergic to most fruit especially strawberries & just about all other

berries. Fruit is also bad for the hypoglycemia. So might as well nix all the

fruit too. What else has got to go? What else is left?

I hardly ever eat peanuts anymore. Don't like peanut butter either as I said. so

that's no loss. I'm having a hard time concentrating on just these egroup emails

without going elsewhere online or off to read yet more stuff about what I can or

cannot ingest or do. It just makes me more depressed anyway. So it ain't gonna

happen.

what's left in life to enjoy anyway? Not much I'd say.

Re: weight loss

peanuts are bad. You need to go to about.com and read some of the articles

on what you can and can't eat

OMG....now apples are bad too? Of course ALL foods are if they're processed,

chemically fertilized or pesticide-sprayed anyway. That's enough right there to

throw all the glands & organs out of whack.

Might as well quit eating altogther now that they're genetically tampering with

produce as well, even the organic kind. It's getting to sound more like a lotta

very sick/dying or starving/dying people on the planet all the time.

Why not just die & get it over with sooner rather than suffer more & wait for

later? Only masochists do that.

Re: weight loss

I read somehwere recently that alot more food affect thyroid function ,one of

them was flax, and the only other two i remember were apples and peanut butter.I

wish i remembered the rest.Ill try and find where i read it at.

I've got the best, most expensive whole house water filtering/processing system

on the market installed here.

So at least I can drink water & not get dehyrated. Not much consolation if

that's all I can have tho.

you need to look up all goitenous foods. Remove them from your diet. I am a

picky eater and find plenty to eat. If you want to feel better, soma

I still have peanut butter occasionally, too. I just don't eat a lot of it, and

I'm not giving it up either.

Friday night I was hungry and had a bag of salted peanuts that I was just dying

for. I don't remember feeling bad, afterwards. I have another small bag of

them here, but not craving them (or the salt from them) so I'm saving them for a

rainy day. :-)

Has Florinef brought it up and by how much? 100/80 is not that bad

unless you are having problems.....
