Liz,

I have no problem with rice at all. Just make sure that you eat it slowly

because it does expand, and can make you uncomfortably full if you eat

too much too fast.

Hi Liz--

In agreement with others that have posted...yes, you can eat rice but

just consider how much it expands! Also, my theory is that since each

grain is so sm all to begin with, I tend to not chew it as thoroughly I

as should. Once rice is in your system, it gets kind of glue-like

because of the starch content. It only took me getting sick once to

make me forget about it for a good 9 or so months. I now eat it (at 15

months out) very sparingly. I had it last night and had less than a 1/2

cup of it with my meal. Pre-surgery I used to have an entire box of

rice-a-roni for breakfast and now I never crave it. Simply put, I no

longer have the same fondness for it. I do eat it now if it is part of

a meal I order (pilaf or a side item to a Chinese dish, etc.), but that

is it.

Happy rice eating,

I can eat rice if it is well cooked. I have a harder time with pork

fried rice.

Rice is a grain. Grains are illegal because of the starch. SCD is a very

different philosophy from GF/CF.
