How long does it take to work? It is a pain med, right? If not, then exactly what is it? Wow! Too many questions? Sorry <smile>. Please let me know how they work, and what they are. Thanks, pal. Guest guest
Dear : I wrote a note about Levsin pills today. I take them too and sometimes now, more often than not they work. I have also heard of taking nitroglycerin for biliary spasm. I tried it, it worked but I could not deal with the " headache " it gave me. Makes sense, it works for coronary artery spasm. > In a message dated 4/21/01 10:46:58 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > liamhoha20@y... writes: > > > > > > , > > > > Sorry, I've never heard of levsin/sl pills. Guest guest
We saw/see a reduction in Gm's when the meds are reduced, not added. However, be carefull of weaning meds, since this can inadvertently cause more seizures on a temporary basis. mother of Jackie age
Guest guest
If your child is on meds now..... the problem may be that they need to be weaned.... or dosage reduced. Sometimes they cause more than they cure. Try to avoid adding more medications ...... it is TOO SOON to give up on the diet! Have meds ever worked in the past? I'd say you are seeing some progress..... but it may take more time. I hope things are getting a bit easier for you. Patti, mom to Katera meds Hello again ! Yesterday we made evulation of first three months on the diet. As you know we had big problems with ketosis. Now we are stable in a low ketons (1 + in the mornming and 2 + in the evening). It is interesting that we made quite big success on short seizures, absences and in the mornig seizures. But we dont have any success on teh grand mals. We still have one grand mal in four days (same as before). Anyway I think that now we have 40 % less seizures than before diet. Now we are trying to get some idea how to get rid of grand mals. Our doc had only one idea - meds; but I dont trust him. What do you think about adding new meds after 3. months on the diet? Does somebody have any idea how to rid off grand mals ? Guest guest
Breda, We only saw a reduction in 's seizures when we started reducing the medicines. We reduced her meds very slowly by equal percentages with about 10 ten days between reductions. You have to careful because depending on what meds you are giving your child there may be some withdrawal seizures. Hang in there and let us know if you have any questions. Many of us on this list have been through this before. Dan, father to , 5 meds Hello again ! Yesterday we made evulation of first three months on the diet.
