I am not sure if it is a definite test for IC - but my urologist did a cystoscope (looked into my bladder). I had ulcer like sores in the mucosa lining of my bladder. I take elmiron ( which grows a new lining in your bladder), librax - which calms the bladder, macrobid - for the frequent bladder infections, and an oxytrol patch which eliminates the 24/7 feeling I have to urinate.
