Guest guest
Jenn, I bought the Isis too and love it. I am glad you like it. I would think any extra pumpings would help your supply. Just do what you have time for and freeze any milk you get so you have a little stash. Just in case. Wendi I bought an avent isis Paige has been sleeping much longer at night, and I am a little worried about my supply going down so I went out and bought an avent isis pump I have an evenflo manual that kills me, and have heard so much about the isis I had to have it:) I LOVE IT No pain at all! And I even seem to let down with it, although not a big let down. How often would you suggest pumping, just to give my supply a boost? I am not having any problems keeping up with Paige's demand or anything, I just feel I want to be producing a little extra for whenever the next growth spurt hits Is there another growth spurt on it way? She will be 5 month on the 13th Anyways, great pump, I love it.. especially after experiencing the pain from the evenflo! Jenn:) You could add a pumping session in one of his long sleep cycles... basically keep nursing on a steady rhythm... like if you would normally nurse every 3 hours, and he goes 5 hours at some point, you could pump then... if it is during *your* sleep, skip it, and see if you could pump after he nurses in the morning when you are fullest, if that is your fullest time. Dont forget that you can keep freshly expressed milk in the fridge for 8 days, so you can add milk to it for that long (the " expiration date " starts counting on the first batch of milk) until you are ready to freeze... and in a freezer section of a refrigerator (has its own door), you can keep it for 3-4 months. Try storing milk in small quantities, like 1-3 ounces at a time. Ice cube trays are good for storing small amounts (if you can cover it well) or in glass jars -- like cleaned baby food jars, small home-canning jars with lids, etc. Glass is considered best for freezing, btw. Second choice would be hard, white plastic, then clear plastic, then bags. You can also make Momsicles for teething or a summer treat. If your going to freze it I wouldn't keep it in there any longer then 24 hours. Better to be safe then sorry you can add chilled milk to frozen milk so you don't have to worry about it but don't add warm milk to frozen milk. Everything I have ever read and my LC told me no longer then 48 hours in the fridge and you can keep it 6 months in the frezer. Amy

I pump at work and my policy is to use up monday-thursday's mm by friday. And I only let friday's milk stay over the weekend to monday. If it looks like I'll have extra, I start freezing some of thursday's milk and then some of friday's if necessary. Hope that makes sense. mom to Bart 1/22/99 _________________________________________________________
