Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone know how they get the bile from the bears? I have a picture in my mind of a bear with a t-tube inserted and a little bile bag attached. Thanks Litton Yahoo! Mail Bring photos to life! New PhotoMail makes sharing a breeze. Guest guest
, I'm pretty sure they mix it up in a lab somewhere -- it's synthetic now. Like Valvoline motor oil! Before science could duplicate it though, many bears lost their gallbladders and their lives. Here's some text from: http://hdlighthouse.org/TreatmentNow/updates/0032ursodiol.php The medical use of UDCA [ursodeoxycholic acid] dates back to at least the 2,000 years of documented Chinese medicine. As a major component of bear bile, UDCA was used to treat almost every imaginable human condition. In our enlightened time, UDCA does not come from bears. Although low cost UDCA has been synthesized, UDCA may be one of the many beneficial drugs that are rescued byproducts from food processing slaughterhouses.
